I have to listen again for the lyrics (beats are charging). Her voice is beautiful and powerful, then it’s soft and vulnerable. Didn’t take long for the arm rubbing! And I’ll check out when the strings come in. Have a wonderful day! Catch you on Home FrYday 🍟 🎶 Cyd

I've only ever heard her once. With Ren. Can't remember the name of the song, but I remember how it made me feel, and hearing her again now - roughly a year later I guess - it makes me feel *exactly* the same way. It also makes me remember a time when this style of vocalisation become popular and started spreading all over the place, the technique used (vowel splitting?? 🤔). This must've been... 2008? 2010? *That* window of time... You can find it in a lot of places these days, and it always sounds fantastic, buttery smooth on the ears (I think even Vessel uses it to some degree...). It's maybe 20-30 seconds into the song as I write this 🤣💖

I ain't gonna go nuts on the comments, but I wanted to drop a little curioiso/insight right here. I was scrolling through Insta a few days ago and "Modern Metal Songwriter" appears on my feed with a series of pictures/inforgraphic... things about "what defines heavy?" and the comments were an absolute gold mine, my own answer being that it's not about the tuning of the guitar, or the key signature, so much as the tonality and the intention *behind* the music/notes (and gave an example of 'Vacant' by Dream Theater; it's only vocals, keys, bass, a few samples of cello or something like this). It's all about emotion and what it evokes in you, and it's one of the most visceral art forms! When an artist can reach you emotionally, they're creating actually *good* music!!

I'm biased but Chilla and Ren are the 2 best in the world rn lol. But i love to feel music so it's hard to compete.

The way I say it is that while I don't feel that way in my own marriage, when she hits that absolute peak performance, she momentarily convinces me that I do. Edit: With regard to the strings, it is possible that it is meant to be heard from HER perspective, not yours.
@musikbyjh3 ай бұрын
Yeah, I totally feel you about being empathetic and making it feel like it’s coming from you. I (Jeremy) do that ALL the time! It’s so powerful. And yes, I agree that sometimes things can be artist perspective vs audience perspective…but typically when audio is paired with video, you usually want it to follow what’s visually being seen. (At least with every gig I’ve been a part of, it’s been like that) Thank you for the comment…you rock!!
