This was in January 2016 when Dany was 15, Pau was 13 and Ale was 11. Rivers Soul and Exterminated would end up on their first album, XXI Century Blood, in 2017. Dany is playing a Gibson Les Paul which she gave up two years later because it’s heavy and hurt her shoulder. Ale is playing a ¾ scale Fender Mustang that she could barely hold. Pau’s drums are likely rented - in the early years they did not have the logistics to travel with a full set of drums.

When they were at Berklee, Monica reportedly had to go to class with Ale. Not because she was worried about her being in class with a bunch of mostly 20-something guys, but because she was too short to be able to carry her bass. When she used the shoulder straps on the case, it hit her in the back of the legs 🙂

i watch the TedX shows often they are so good. I like Dany's voice then. Another reactor who is a bass player calls Ale "Little Gene" her moves remind him of Gene Simmons. Their other video "THE PRETENDER - FOO FIGHTERS COVER - THE WARNING - OUT OF THE BASEMENT" is very well done filmed outdoors on a hill near their home. I like their version better than the original. It brings tears of joy to my eyes because of their talent. Ale plays a Gibson SG bass full scale.

I’ve said this many times before but…their independent era is by far my absolute favorite. They’re raw, unfiltered, powerful,, trying so hard to prove themselves and pulling it off. The songs have this visceral feel that just kills me. Exterminated and Unmendable, which they play on the 2nd Ted talk are in my top 5 Warning songs. I think that Ale is so underrated. As a drummer for 40+ years, I've played with some great bass players, and Ale ranks right up there with the best of them. In fact, her rhythmic playing is spot on, and might be better than most. The biggest difference is that she doesn't "show" how good she really is... That said, I kind of wish she would "go off" once just to show up the naysayers. Lol

It has been overwhelming for me to jump in this train and find out that they started rolling 10 years before, to see them still really young and with 11 years of amazing and full experience. Overwhelming but great at the same time!!! And pretty much unbelievable that they have already "oldies". A bunch of fans seem not to be very comfortable with their progression with the new KMF LP but I really believe that it is their path to follow and their own creative process. I think they are strong enough to stop any attempt to being imposed with significant criteria for their songs. Maybe "cosmetic" details but nothing meaningful.

I also think her father being a sound engineer helped them with the "tech" side of performing and playing music. Even here, you can see an iPad on the stool next to Pau which likely played the click track for her/them that she'd pre-recorded. Now they use Ableton Live which Pau still controls from a MacBook on a stand next to her on stage.

You can clearly see that the camera loves Ale, she was already getting the moves, Dany was more grounded and remained close to the mic (of course, she learn to move around since) and Pau was hitting the drums hard back then. If you look at Pau nowadays, she is very ecomomical with her moves, but still with a huge sound. Ale could barely hold her bass while speaking and I love how free she was - she is getting back to the same freedom today, just look at the latest interviews.

Agree - public speaking makes most adults crap their pants, even after they're forced to do it several times to a small audience. These girls are clearly made for all of this. And I love how they still get together and hold hands to bow out off the stage. Ale really used to belt out her vocals but she's become so much more subdued as she's grown.
