Praise? It seems living in the UK makes him appreciate America more. OK he wasn't too disparaging about the UK, but I think he should read our food labels before dissing it in favour of the chemically infused US produce. As for future imports from America, those same labels will allow the more discerning Brits and Americans to continue to make healthy choices.

@@ajs41 He's a tourist/visitor obviously he's going to like the UK dude, lmao. You might just be insecure about what an embarrassment to the country Brexit is so you need validation from some guy who visited for a month or two. The UK is an amazing country and I love it here but the Conservative party are completely running it into the ground and are making it not so great anymore which is disappointing. Obviously a random American wouldn't be privy to such details... though I did still enjoy the video because it's nice to be reminded there's still a lot to like about the UK.

Welcome to England! The Sunday Roast is any roasted meat really, Turkey is usually just for Christmas, chicken is common as are beef, lamb and pork. Vegetables are boiled usually not steamed and the roast potatoes are partly boiled after peeling and then roasted in a separate tray to the meat. Gravy is a massive part of the meal and can be either ready made granules or stock from the meat and some wine. Each type of meat we roast has a condiment that adds to the flavour. So roast beef comes with horseradish sauce, lamb comes with mint sauce, pork comes with apple sauce and chicken or Turkey often have cranberry. You will often get stuffing and Yorkshire pudding on a roast as well. Next to the Full English breakfast the Sunday Roast is possibly our most comforting and enjoyable meal. Have fun over here and next time you're in a kebab shop try a Lamb Shish, so much tastier than a doner!

Yeah, seems kind of funny. It's even funnier when you realise that Chinese have the most varied number of ways to cook potatoes. Not necessarily the best, but the greatest number of different ways. But definitely roasting them in an oven has never been a thing - I think mainly because Chinese people don't really have ovens (at least not big on them). It's common for stalls/restaurants to have massive furnaces, but ovens in the home aren't a thing and thus roasting potatoes has never been a thing. Seems a simple thing, but definitely one of the best ways to eat potatoes.

Generally speaking, food costs are much lower in the UK. Re' standard of living, It's swings and roundabouts really. For instance, housing costs are much higher in the UK but healthcare costs are less than half what they are in the States and that's before we even get to all the extra costs not covered by US health insurance. Not having to worry about healthcare costs makes a HUGE difference. Something you'll realise as you get older or if you fall seriously ill. :)

@@DarrenHarrison7160 Well, first of all, my original comment about British sarcasm was just a light hearted remark. I would say sarcasm spans the whole of what we call Britain. As for whether being British really exists, that's an interesting question. If we strip it down, what are any of us? Borders are merely man made lines drawn on a map. There were ancient Britons before being invaded by various tribes. Did they have a line drawn in the sand? Personally, I'm happy to call myself English, part Welsh and also British. I'm also fine with those who want nothing to do with being labelled British. Follow your own path and let others follow theirs...👍

Hey! Come to Essex next time. We have better weather and more roundabouts. London is just a short train ride away. Don't try driving here if you can't parallel park or do 3 point turns!

Glad you have visited other places than London. So many Americans think just London is England and that we all talk posh and drink tea all day London is a small part and so unrepresentitive of the rest of the UK. There are far nicer, less crime ridden and much less expensive ares to see and better cities too.

If your only experience of living in England is the Manchester area then I'm afraid the, weather there I almost always damp and cold. Come to lincolnshire. The weather here is so much better, even today its freezing out but not a cloud in the sky. A beautiful winter's day. Plus, here is one of the driest places in the UK . Our summers are on Average really good.

This was really interesting you have a good way of describing things. Also I like the reverence with which you describe our delicacy "the Sunday roast" haha :) btw the food here isn't necessarily that expensive I don't think. Did you go to Aldi/Lidl for your food, because usually it's pretty reasonably priced from those shops. Also if you're in London everything is pretty expensive there
