This is a version of Chinese takeaway chicken curry that’s used in many places now, it’s good but lacks the depth of flavour the old handmade curry pastes had, only a-few takeouts now will take the time, but that’s because it’s super hard work, massive vats of stiff curry paste that you have to use a huge wooden paddle to turn, the blisters I got from that was unreal.

Thanks for this recipe, I’ve used this paste several times but always felt something was missing. I’ll give this a try, I’ve used your chicken chow mein recipes lots of times,you’re right about the noodles brand , they really are far superior to supermarket ones . Love your videos especially the ones with your mum, there always cheery with great music, it always makes me smile watching your intros. Keep up the good work please .

I made this tonight. Admittedly I used chicken thigh as it's what I had but oh my goodness was it amazing!!! Thank you for all your recipes and tips, I live remotely, nearest takeaway is about 39 miles away 😂 These videos have been a godsend!!

Great video guys. I go between using Goldfish Brand and your own (better) old school curry paste. My question is, do you think this would work OK to do exactly as you've done but using Ziangs curry paste? Or would you drop the Cumin and Coriander?

My "old" chinese takeaway always fried there chicken then suddenly stopped about 13 years ago 😂 so i stopped using it (its a texture thing, not flavour) do you have a way to do it frying instead of poaching?

Not understanding that the sauce on its own doesn’t need to be seasoned but then the extra vegetation and meat does just shows you are in no position to be commenting, that’s cater collage 101, season every element, unless it’s well seasoned already, then season the parts that need it, like every good chef knows this 😂😂😂

If you want, you can get the original book and make the full curry paste that's in there but that will take many hours to do and is great if you want to have batches ready. If not, this is a quick way for everyone who doesn't have the full curry sauce paste home made to use. Remember, this is fast, takeaway style cooking. They don't make up curry paste individually for each chicken curry. Your comment made no sense.

Yea that's great but what's the best sort , the most ideal and tastiest the normal 'joe' can buy ???......I've been buying it for years since following you and mum, and when I order I sometimes get random msgs, they all seem to differ and I'm convinced some aren't 100 % in quality .. ....isn't there a brand we can all rely on, like we do with heinz or say, uncle Ben's lol ??

😂😂😂 I’ve cheffed in takeaways that literally do this, even more now most of the takeaways are generational ones, also maybe figure what’s on the channels before commenting, just makes you looks like a know it all, I have 4/5 other curry paste recipes all completely different as I’ve cheffed in over 15 takeaway across the UK, ok pumpkin 😘
