Love those kiddy art paintings on the trees, they bring joy to old people too, not just the kids, make adults forget the depressing side of life while they stroll past.

Me too! Very good point! I hadn’t thought about that but they did put a warm smile on my face on this freezing day👍✌️

@middlekingdomproductions Yes, it's a great idea, should be done on trees along the sidewalks everywhere else instead of boring ugly looking white wash painting. Social reminders are also good too. But no commercial ads.

@@Anonymous------ yeah definitely, I hope to see more in the future 👍 I’ve noticed murals on community walls quite often but I think this is the first time I’ve seen them on trees.

There is sometimes some haze in winter and less in summer, but it is much better than before, which shows that the governance is effective.

Things have changed so much so quickly in China that it's not easy to believe or comprehend. In the US and Canada, you get used to a pothole from 20 years ago.
@middlekingdomproductions3 күн бұрын
Yeah it really is difficult to comprehend. 😂🙈 the pothole situation in the UK is pretty similar !

The most polluted places in China are mainly in the north, especially around Hebei, where there are many heavy industrial factories. In fact, the biggest pollution is dust storms, but most of them are carried by the wind from Siberia and Mongolia.
@middlekingdomproductions4 күн бұрын
Yeah, true. We are lucky to rarely be affected at all by dust storms this far south of the deserts up north.

Yes you are right. I remember 20 years ago visiting some cities that visibility was restricted to 30 meters due to air-polutions, but the very same city are under a clear blue sky with excellent air-quality. Thank you for your enlightening video.
@middlekingdomproductions4 күн бұрын
Yeah I can only imagine how bad pollution must have been back then. While it still exists it’s reduced a lot, at least here in Nanjing 😁👍 thanks for watching !

Directly north of mainland China, there is a magical country called Mongolia. Europeans should be very familiar with this country. In recent years, most of the haze in China and the sandstorms that have affected South Korea and Japan came from here, Japan and South Korea. They have spent a lot of money to help Mongolia, but it is obvious that the above work has not had any effect!

Nice drone footage as always! I want to point out that pollution in much of China is heavily influenced by the East Asian monsoon. From October to February, there's little rainfall and the atmosphere is stable, which allows pollutants to accumulate due to fewer opportunities for dispersion or cleansing by rain.
@middlekingdomproductions2 күн бұрын
Cheers! 😁 I enjoyed flying the drone along this street. That’s interesting thanks for sharing. I can’t remember the last time it rained here in Nanjing !

Can you estimate what percentage of Chinese households use dryers for cloths? I ask because while I see nearly universal use of washing machines on KZbin and Bilibili, I still don't see much usage of dryers. Same question for usage of Western-style sit down toilets vs traditional squat ones.
@middlekingdomproductions4 күн бұрын
I couldn’t even guess but I doubt many use them at all, I’ve rarely seen one. Most homes use western toilets and most modern public toilets too. Some public toilets have a mixture of both types of toilet. Perhaps less western toilets deeper in the countryside though.
@ZeeeXeeee4 күн бұрын
95% family use sit on pooper,dryer is often a built in function with drum washing machine which seen more oftern nowadays,but even with that ppl still prefer sundry if possible.
@yoingen4 күн бұрын
Young people will install dryers when decorating their homes. I have one at home, but I rarely use it because I prefer to bask in the sun. As for the western-style toilet, my bedroom is a western-style toilet and the public space is a Chinese-style toilet. In fact, I still prefer the Chinese-style toilet because it helps with defecation, hahahaha.

When I have visited Nanjing I have been impressed by the clealiness of the streets, communities and wider environment. Also the quantity and quality of maintenance of green spaces. I was also impressed by the focus on recycling. People are really community focused and care about their environment. Interesting video Adam. Thanks for sharing. ❤

It’s not dystopia nor is it utopia. It’s simply a better place to live. But in the west, in the US, their minds are too closed to even conceive of a possibility that there can be something better.
@middlekingdomproductions18 сағат бұрын
I think many people aren’t aware what life might be like here. But I don’t think people’s minds are any more closed in the West than anywhere else. Life can be good in most places, it depends on your mindset, the people around you, cost of living etc. For an English speaking person it’s not the easiest thing to move and live in a different culture where the language is different and everyday life is different. It’s much more convenient and modern and great infrastructure, low cost of living, amazing culture and food etc but also a challenge for a foreigner too😁
