I’ve got my pork belly on the boil right now with the exact spices you used and it smells amazing already.. can’t wait to air fry it but will wait the 8 hours first .. I’ve been keto for quite a few years and so glad I came across your channel ❤ Thankyou 😊

Mine had great flavor but it didn't turn out well enough in my air fryer (old one). I also think it had something to do with the belly itself. Didn't stay flat. I will try it again and use my air fryer option on my oven.

Do you have any videos on the sauces that are typically used in Asian cuisine and the alternatives? For example: Oyster Sauce, Hoisin. I tend to shy away from many sauces. As a diabetic, I don’t keep sugar in the house. Or am I just being too picky? Also, which sugar replacement do you find works best in cooking Asian foods?
@AliceCeeCPA11 ай бұрын
You can replace soy sauce and oyster sauce with coconut aminos :) it’s not 100% the same but it’s the closest in flavour. I don’t think it’s picky to keep out any sugar in the house!

Interesting, her method doesnt require applying the dry rub onto the meat side. Instead she dumps it into the boiling water for a more subtle taste. ALL the other methods say apply it directly. I find it comes out waaay too salty. Gonna try this method. 30-40 min boiling, then 40 min at 400F. No damn tin foil either.

Gosh this makes me want to go out right now to buy pork belly and make this! Recipe for Chinese pork belly vary in the amount of boiling time from as little as 1-5 minutes to your method of 30-40 minutes. Do you know how this affects the end product?
@AliceCeeCPA Жыл бұрын
I think it would depend on the thickness of the pork and strength of your air fryer. In this video we used an older air fryer and left the pork in large pieces. If you pre cut the pieces first it wouldn’t take as long :) thanks for watching!

I have pork belly boiling at the moment before putting into the air fryer. Question, this is a very large piece which I cut in two before boiling. It came frozen in cryovac bag so couldn't choose a smaller piece. After air frying, how do you store it? Can it be kept in the fridge and still maintain its crisp? Can it be frozen? I won't be able to eat it all myself in one sitting.
@AliceCeeCPA Жыл бұрын
Hi Deni, you can store in fridge for a few days. If you want to get it crispy again try warming it up in the air fryer for a few mins before serving. It will always be crispiest when it is fresh!
@denim4821 Жыл бұрын
It's in the air fryer now, is it normal to hear popping or what sounds like little explosions?

It may look good, but the outcome is far from it. Followed this recipe exactly and what I got was a crispy outside skin atop a tough, over done, shoe leather like layer of meat. Parboiling for 40 minutes turned a piece of pork belly into a sad failed experiment. This did not work for me - looking for another air fryer pork belly recipe.

Only 40 mins in your "handy dandy, air fryer." After the 40 mins in your "handy dandy, saucepan full of seasoned water." Or did you forget about that part? 1hr 20 mins actual cooking time...
@yannickm542911 ай бұрын
So much chewing, skin is no good! Shouldve put a lot of salt on the skin and put it in the fridge for the skin to dry out more, now there was too much moisture still, as we can see from the lack of bubbles on the skin
