How wonderful, glad I stumbled across your channel. Very informative, and you're certainly a precious old soul. Thank you. I put one in my '58 VW bus and I love it, just what I need in Alaska. First time I ran it, it threw a EE05 code, which was an overheated unit. Apparently, the fan was not moving enough air through the heater on the LOW setting, and hence, the heat buildup. On the higher settings, it moves more air and is not a problem . Somehow, it's possible to control the fan speed, but given the absolutely atrocious directions, I am petrified to attempt changing any of the settings in case I screw it up. Jolly good show, old chap. Keep a stiff upper lip, and all that rot👍😉

Put 12v directly to the pump and nothing. Talking with the eBay seller at present about a new pump. Your video is really helpful Much appreciated.

I used your advice when first getting error 08 several times...thank you 🙏 but then that didn't work another time so I replaced the fuel line from the green one that comes with the kit to a white one, unsure of material but it's less flexy so fuel pumps through better. Can buy online cheap. Never had error 08 since

Thank you for the feed back. It’s such an imprecise science diesel heaters. I’ve mention on several videos about poor quality fuel lines. They split easily and even the tiniest of holes will cause a fuel blockage. Thanks again Pk

Why did you skip over E02? I understand it’s an over-voltage error. Given that nothing has changed in my electrics and it’s been working fine for months, I was really orally bewildered. I solved it by removing the fuse and putting it back after a wait. It seems fine now, but I’m still surprised you’ve not covered all the fuses, even if it’s just to say what it might be but that it’s not a common one.

At the start I contacted the manufacturer for advice. Not all error codes were initially covered. So I have actually done a follow up video covering the three error codes I missed. The other issue is the manufacturer appears not to fully understand the error codes on their own machines. I’m being contacted regularly by people with error codes and new problems/solutions to these said coding issues. There honestly isn’t a definitive answer to each code, there are so many problems it’s staggering. I’ve added fuse pulling onto my cheat sheet for e-02 along with nine other possible issues. Always have a extra pump and glow plug, filter and fan housing laying around, atleast if you really needs it to work 24/7, then you are secure..

You’ll know if the fan is stuck as you’d hear it scraping. So error 0-6 can also be wiring particularly in new fans. If it is new then I’d suggest you contact the supplier as this may be on the main wiring loom. If it’s an older model then pull out the wiring loom connector from the unit and give the connections a good clean and reseat it. Very important to make sure the loom isn’t twisted or kinked as the wires are of a particularly cheap installation and they are know to break if bent. Let me know how you get on

Check the Air intake pipe and filter before you do anything. air starvation will cause an E10 error code. Then I'd suggest getting a heating engineer to take take a look. A simple cleaning of the combustion chamber around the sensor maybe enough but of course its the cost against a new one so it may be simpler to buy new.

Hello, thanks for the video! I have an E10 as well, but my heater is freshly installed. I've primed it and attempted to run it several times, but it just spits cold air while the pump runs. Given that it's never successfully heated up, it shouldn't be carbon deposits, right? I can hear the exhaust puffing, just no heat and the eventual E10. Any ideas? Help us greatly appreciated. 😅

Watched a bunch these videos, none seem to tell how to get past or clear the Error Codes. I had an E-10 and could see tons of air in our fuel lines. But we could not enter manual prime mode. The keystrokes to enter prime only work from the default screen ( where the time is displayed ) ~ Being stuck on E-10 we could not solve the problem by priming. Eventually we unplugged the controller for a few minutes. When reconnected the E-10 gone and we were able to enter prime mode and clear the air from the lines.

The cheap chinese heaters, are just as good as a webasto.. But, you have to know how to run it.. What I've seen, is that the accessories are of bad quality.. But the heater itself are just the same.. And if you run them low over time, they will clogg shut, and you will start to get smoke and error codes all over the place.. For most people it is common sense on how they work and how they should be run to function 100%..

E-00 is normally a “ no error” code. If the fan runs but doesn’t switch off without popping a fuse it’s sounding like a pc board fault. How old is the unit? It’s not unheard of for relatively new systems being faulty. If it is then you probably need a new board.

@@PKandL Thanks for that it's under a year old my mates just solved an E 07 code which turned out to be water ingress in the main plug on the 3 wires that go to the control panel he sorted this by doing away with the main plug and hard wiring the cables using water proof connections (he does this type of work for a living) it's worked perfect for 3 weeks and now this I think Ile give him a ring I was just trying to give him a head start many thanks

I've had an e 07 error for months that I just can't be bothered to try and sort or get someone to sort as it means ripping everything out of my van as they've put it in a very stupid place basically when I turn the diesel heater on it comes on as normal but after about 10 minutes I get an error 07 code come up then it turns its self off does the run down procedure for a few minutes then when It turns off I just hold the on button and it fires back up and comes back on again comes on fine heats up hot , but again runs for about 10 minutes then E07 and turns off it's annoying because we have to keep turning it back on every 10 minutes , but it's not broken in a way thats stopping it working fully it just does what I've explained , it's annoying and I want to get it sorted but I bet If I take it somewhere it will cost me an arm and a leg to get it sorted I've been putting it off but I'm not sure wether to get it sorted , I'm not really sure what places deal with this kind of stuff apart from specialist camper van companies and they aren't cheap :(

That actually sounds like an e-08 error cade. Does the outer shell get almost too hot to touch? An oddity that it runs, switches off then resets on an e-07

I had an E-6 Error. The fan had moved too far AWAY from the control box which has a sensor to detect the magnets in the back of the fan so it knows how fast it is spinning. I got a socket and tapped the fan in looking at the intake end so it moved towards the control box. Needs to be about 1mm but not touching or rubbing. The fans can slide too close and cause rubbing or too far away and the control box loses signal. Needs to be about 1mm or so from the box. Let me know if it helps anyone. Very simple Fix.

Ooh! That’s an odd one. Sounds very much like an internal fault. Tbh it’s best to contact the supplier on this one and ask for a replacement. No error code maybe a deep seated fault. Sorry I can’t be more useful

E-02 is the most common fault this time of year. It base fault is an over charge but it can be a number of other issues. Firstly if you battery is charged make sure the connections are on correctly particularly the live. The wires that the heater are made from are not great, they are quite underrated and this can cause an issue too. Is it a new heater or an older one that’s been sat during the summer? What batteries are you using? Amp hours? Are the linked? Give me an idea of set up B and I will try y to o help you through it. K

E-01 is an electrical fault as a rule so first thing check the voltage setting. Go into settings on your controller and look for voltage. These heaters are duel voltage and you could have tripped onto 24v which would explain why your battery is fully charged but you’re still getting the error code. Try that first and let me know how you get on.

Other then that I've no idea to c if it's on 24v or 12v all I I knw none of applience work off battery only fridge, everything else is plugged into mains to work checked breaker nd fuse all 100% checked and tighten all connections points

Hello and thank you for all the good info you provided. My diesel heater has been working well for 2 years but few days ago started showing E10. The lithium house battery voltage is 13V and fully charged and the display of the diesel heater shows 13V. So that's good. When I start the diesel heater the fan is starting first and slowly the display of the diesel heater shows the voltage to drop from 13V to 9V and then shows the error E10 and shuts down. The Li ion battery display continues to show 13V during all this time. The heater needs 12V to start so something is happening and does not get the minimum 12V needed from the battery or the heater "believes" does not have 12V. Do you think that either carbon build up in the combustion chamber or water ingress via the air intake pipe can cause voltage drop? Is it possible that the electronic controller inside the diesel heater is not working properly and when I start the heater it malfunctions and "reads" low voltage and then it shuts down showing E10 that’s an error code for a variety of reasons? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and thank you for your kind words. If your voltage is dropping on the heater but remains constant on the batteries then it sounds like either a control chip malfunction or more likely a wiring issue caused by the heat. Firstly as you fire up and the voltage begins to drop check the voltage on the batteries to make sure they are stable. If the battery draw is ok then you need to remove the outer case and check the wire terminals. They corrode over time and loosen causing a drop in charge. If this is still causing an issue run the unit without the cover and check for any observable signs of shortage. If still no go then it’s the control chip. Remember to check the terminals at the fusebox too. Let me know how you get on K

Two things. Check you’ve not got an air lock on your fuel tank. Open the lid then switch on the heater. If that doesn’t cure it then it sounds like the pump is faulty. Do you get an error code? How old is the heater. Regards Kaos

@@nightskyimages2977 Thats likely the issue. any air getting in will affect the pumps operation and cause a flame out. Replace the hose and that should.... cure it. There needs to be a constant fow through to the pump. Good luck

First check your batteries. Is there enough voltage especially after it’s been running for a few minutes. If you’ve multiple batteries in parallel then try disconnecting one of the other batteries. This is a common first time fault. Let me know how you get on

@@romakayak I’ve just checked my notes from the manufacturer. E-02 can also mean over charge fault! Take that as you will. Go into settings and make sure you’re on 12v and not 24v. It should automatically change voltage as the unit is dual voltage. I know it sound obvious but you’ve not wired your 12v batteries into 24v configuration? That will also affect it. Somewhere this is an electrical issue rather than mechanical fault

Very helpful video on the 08 error I had. Do you have issues with smell/fumes? I have used my heater twice but get a very strong smell inside my tent. It smells like chemicals/ fumes -not exhaust. My carbon monoxide detector shows no exhaust in the tent but the smell is strong and gives me a headache so I stopped using the heater.

I’m guessing the exhaust is well away from the tent.? As there are minimums set in law over vents in houses so the same rule although not mandatory should really apply to other applications. Sounds odd but have you “sniffed” the hot air vents just in case you have a leak in the heat exchange? How exactly have you set it up. I’m pleased the video was initially helpful K

@@PKandL I just got a error code 8 and it started shutting down and heavy smell of diesel. I was told it was a fuel issue it could of sucked a air bubble and also the caps on the tanks dont vent well. I got it to fire right back up but still have a a smell of diesel coming out of the vents. I’m running it on high hopefully will clean it out or something. It’s blowing really hot still but the diesel smell is there. Have the exhaust out of the wall and the air cleaner out the wall. Will this smell burn off and go away?

@@MrPsh-xs7ul smell of diesel can be a number of things. Fuel line leak. If you’re using the original green or blue fuel lines they’re not fuel rated and do perish relatively quickly so check the line for a fuel leak. If the smell is coming from the hot air vent there’s an issue with fuel escaping from the combustion chamber. This is more serious because fuel should not enter the heat exchanger. If it does it’s really an issue for a qualified engineer. Third and sometimes the most common issue is you have a leak on the exhaust at the bottom of the unit. As it gets hot the pipe can expand and this causes it to leak particularly under pressure. Use a fire proof sealant around the joints. Try burning it on hot and see what happens but I’m hoping it’s likely to be the first problem I’ve suggested. Do let me know how you get on. K

First thing is check the voltage is high enough. Chinese heaters are renowned for electrical issues. If you’re using the fuel tank provided make sure the air hole in the top of the lid is clear. If this blocks it causes a vacuum and fuel starvation, the heater won’t kick in. Still stuck give me some more info and I’ll check the manufacturers list. K

@@paulring7152 ok. The speeding up of the motor shortly before shutdown is programmed into the system. After the combustion chamber shut down the fan is blowing through the system to clear out excessive materials in the chamber, it’s quite normal. You say the fuel is straight from the tank? It still must breathe. There must not be an airlock. Try taking the lid off and fitting it loosely back on. It is sounding like a fuel issue to me. Check through the fuel line to make sure it’s not pinched and there are no air bubbles through. Do let me know how your getting on Pk

@@PKandL Hi after investigation it seems the pump is pulling in air cant see no bubbles from tank to pump but from pump to heater I get a fair few bubbles and I keep trying but keeps on producing bubbles in fuel line

Hello. You’ve a glow plug fault. It could be a simple thing like a loose or poor connection to the plug or it sounds very much like a coking issue. That means the plug tip is covered in carbon and is not able to produce enough heat to ignite the fuel. You’ll need to open up the casing , locate the glow plug and remove it. Chances are you can just clean it of and that should do the trick. Just be aware the wiring in these units are not the best so make sure you have a good connection. Regards. Kaos

Yes. No fuel through the pump into the combustion chamber. It will need to be primed. So filling the fuel tank will not solve the issue. This will lead to an airlock in the fuel lines. Hope that helps

Hi. I have made a catch-up video on the missing E numbers including E-04. I had to write to the manufacturer to get a clarification. Basically it’s an oil pump issue. They recommend checking the wiring first then the pump. Take a look at the video, I won’t tell you how to fix it but it will give you an idea of the likely problem. Hope that helps K

Ok. The official line is cut out can occur around 11.5v as voltage is too low to feed the pump. Make what you will of that comment so your voltage maybe just on the limit and the motor trips out. Hope that helps

So sorry for the slow reply. It sounds like a wiring fault between the unit and the sender in the heater chamber. Wiring is a common fault. It’s rarely the pump. Have you managed to resolve the problem. ?

@@PKandL no problem at all.. I wasn't able to get it started .. if I set it to prime fuel the pump turns on... but on normal start operation the pump won't start .. I put my multi meter in the big plug and it seemed to sending a pulse out of the plug 🔌 still no start ..

Just looked it up. E17 is a fuel pump error normally associated with the wiring. Maybe shorting out or pump over heat is also possible. It’s a new one on me. Hope it helps
