Just commented on a previous video before seeing this. I am so glad to see someone testing more mixtures. This is awesome. I'm definitely subscribing to this! -Dan in Pennsylvania

I run waste cooking oil with kerosene(paraffin), 80% cooking oil 20% kerosene. Burning waste motor oil for heating is a criminal offence here in the uk. Anything free must be taxed

What do you use for power king the unit? I was thinking of possibly having it plugged into my outlet in the garage?
@andyhermiz30752 жыл бұрын
We're you running on high temperature like mode 7 or 8 also I heard you have to start the unite with pure desiel get it up to temp then use the black desiel please advise thank you great vedio

This is what I have found out so far. By trail and error so far I was able to burn a gallon waste oil from around full strength (trans oil) for a while along with the 50 50 mixes of ugly waste oil to the sum of around 5 gallons and have not cleaned it yet. It is still running but needs cleaning, just over 4 weeks of mixes and clean burns. I strongly recommend that you do it with the unit up right and take the air tube off. First it is restrictive, saw a video on this and when I pulled mine off there was a change in rpm and sound. Also when it fails to burn the oil it will fill the air tube up with oil and not let any air in for combustion. I have a pan under the intake to catch the oil right now. It will dump oil from time to time but keeps running. Right now I am thinking on how to heat the oil. Not sure on how yet. If you put a copper pipe fuel line on the exhaust, big temp change from high to low. Maybe the exhaust room air might be the way. Then you also have to remember the pump. It pumps more or less fuel by the viscosity. I think I am going to try a heating pad on my tank next. Another thing to do is a three way valve (motorcycle fuel) and two tanks. This let's you have clean out burn cycles or slow running speed with pure diesel. I just don't see burning waste oil on the low end, temp needs to be high to get it to burn. Good luck to you and happy tinkering

The viscosity of the fuel has nothing to do with the amount pumped. Heating the fuel doesn't change the amount of ash and carbon build up, that's to do with the oil itself and the contamination the oil carries. I did all this last winter, and eventually had to replace the burn chamber. The non starting is to do with the large gauze in the burn chamber (not the little one by the glow plug) not the viscosity of the oil. For me, it didn't matter the ratio between red diesel and wmo. It eventually clogged the burn chamber.

@@yodab.at1746 There is a video by a fellow who’s brother has been running on waste oil for a long time before needing the burner to be burnt out with a gas torch. Here is the video: ‘Chinese diesel heater ran on used waste oil clean out” by JohnDragonMan

Would 20% petrol and 80% waste oil work? Also are you using fully synthetic waste oil?

I to have been messing around with burning waste oil in this little heater for about a month. I have a legit one, and have been around them long time and understand how they work. Heat the oil to change the viscosity and add air for addmation

What type of waste oil were you burning? Also, did you filter the waste oil at all prior to running it in heater?
@Storman772 жыл бұрын
Engine waste oil and yes filtered .

Looking for a good way to heat my 14x40ft wood shop. It’s insulated and the weather in the winter here gets around 20 degrees at night. Do you think one of these would keep it warm?
@MrBugsier52 жыл бұрын
if you put it on full power it wil stay way cleaner, Dont go further then a 50/50 mixture and it wil be fine. The more you use it on high the cleaner it wil stay. (Its burnes hotter)

I've had my Chinese Diesel Heater for 3 years. I just added a pint of kerosene in hopes of getting a hotter burn and perhaps assist in cleaning any built up residue. Any feedback is welcomed.

The thing we oil burners should concentrate on really though is distilling the oil we heat and collecting the more or less actual diesel from it.

Seems it makes sense to keep it clean and at least once a week But there’s a lot of time and light work in keeping it running

Running 60/40 and not only diesel how long does it run before cleaning? Also running 60/40 does the heater run longer? Thank you

It ran only 2 weeks, no not noticeably longer .

@@Storman77 It would be great if there was a additive that could reduce the build up.
@oliver90owner2 жыл бұрын
@@usa1 The additive is just more diesel or kerosene, I suspect. Detergent engine oils can hold quite a lot of carbon particles, I expect (that will up the calorific value). Likely require a sub-micron filter to remove most of it. Also, the oil can be diluted with fuel oil in some engines, so not too consistent. A lot of modern road diesels use ash-free or low-ash oils which are more expensive so those that contain ash. The ash-free-er oils are for protecting DPFs. Running at the higher gas flows will likely be best for clearing particles before they build up on the heat exchange surfaces and in the burner tube. I’ve only run my heater on diesel - and not used much of that, yet. I don’t look forward to cleaning it out on a regular basis, but I might add some used oil at some point.

i drive my T4 on waster vegetable oil - i think you need to heat it before, because of WVO low flashpoint to burn clean. Can you try to coil a brake line for fuel around the exhaust pipe. im pretty sure this will work.

Probably heat it too much
@mnp37132 жыл бұрын
@@Alexander_l322 dont think so. boil point of veg oil is around 280-300C and the flashpoint is around 315C the exhaust dont get above 200C

I watch a different video 60/40 didnt work either he said 50/50 burns burns hotter. Mine comes today.
@oliver90owner2 жыл бұрын
It looks like you may well have contravened the exhaust maximum bends and length? That would not help the combustion, so may be a possible reason why the machine does not cope with too much waste oil and soots up. Not the complete reason, but maybe it is ‘the straw that breaks the camel’s back’, so to speak?
@Storman772 жыл бұрын
That is a possibility Richard , on my new design I will try to straighten them out.
