I tell you, they come within less than 10 miles. And usually, when intercepted, their heading is towards Chinese or Russian airspace. The fighter jets you see in propaganda footage, doing "unrofessional intercepts", are in fact forcing USAF aircraft to change heading away from their airspace. This usually happens with P3 or P8 MPAs, KC135s , and B52s. Except the B52 which is a bomber, the others are electronic warfare aircraft and their mission is specifically to trigger these two countries response and air defense systems, in order to record communications, procedures, response time, distance of intercept, air defense radar emissions, and so on. Another thing they do, is to spy, gather intel and give it to Ukraine, amd also jamming russian military assets in the Black Sea area. The claim they rightfully fly in international airspace is bullshit.

It’s a court martialable offense to recklessly endanger your aircraft like that. If the US pilot were actually responsible, 1: you’d never hear about it on the news 2: the pilots would have been dishonorably discharged, thrown in jail, and ensured they would never fly again even on civilian aircraft. Meanwhile China has already come out publicly and stated that doing things like this is not only authorized, but encouraged (specifically with their navy, obvious they aren’t going to say this is their policy with aircraft since that’s an international crime).

well actually most part of the south china sea doesnt even belong to china, its either on international water or belongs to southeast asian countries, and most of these ASEAN countries is US allies and they would welcome US millitary presence in the region,why? because these countries are sick of china who has been claiming their sea in a border dispute while enforcing coast guard on the chinese self-claimed sea territory
