The founders, Andrew & Peggy Cherng should listen to what your grandpa has to say. Your grandpa is correct. Most people don't know good Chinese food! Last year we moved to California Central Coast. A lot of people don't know the history of this kind of food. The American style Chinese food is real Chinese food, but not from China. In the beginning of American history and expansion, there were a lot of Chinese immigrants. Some of them wanted to open restaurants, but to be successful, they had to make food that American's would like, so those Chinese immigrants invented what is now known as American style Chinese food. I like both styles, if they are cooked well and I like the history.

I live in the States and I'm lucky to have grown up with an amazing authentic Chinese restaurant in our town. It's my favorite place to go to this day. Panda Express is okay to me, it doesn't taste authentic at all, obviously, and it's not real Chinese food, it's American Chinese mass produced food.
