Chinese Handmade Egg Wonton Wraps (Chinese Recipe) The Easy Way
Welcome to Xiao's Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei and my goal is to make your cooking simple and exciting. Ever since my Mother showed me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia, in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and learn new Chinese recipes.
Ingredients:
500g Plain Flour
4 Eggs
30ml water
Pinch of Salt
Method:
1. Break the eggs in a bowl and whisk
2. Place the flour in a large mixing bowl
3. Add the salt, egg and water. Combine all ingredients together
4. Transfer the mixture onto work surface and then knead into a smooth dough
5. Place the dough back in the bowl, cover and leave to rest for 30 minutes
6. Remove the cover, place the dough on a work surface again, fold and knead for 5 minutes
7. Place the dough back in the bowl, cover and leave to rest another 20 minutes
8. Repeat the last step again once more
9. Lightly dust the work surface, take half of the dough and place onto work surface
10. Using a rolling pin to roll out the dough into a thin sheet at about 1mm or 2mm in thickness - dust the work surface and the dough during this to avoid sticking
11. Dust the floured sheet
12. Cut off the edges to form a square
13. Cut the sheet into 16 equal size squares
14. Dust and place each little square to the top of others, place into a food bag and seal, keep in freezer when for making wonton
15. Repeat this with the other half of the dough

Love these wonton wraps girl. Just hit the notification bell, I am going to be binge watching your recipes, amazing content. I made some wonton with cream cheese and chives before but yours look even better...you have skills for the kitchen life.

Hi. Did you try them? How were they? I've seen some recipes with egg and some without. I wonder if the egg makes it more crunchy or chewy.

Thanks a lot for the very helpful video of your’s. Please let me know if we cam freeze these wraps and if so how long.

When I made the handmade egg noodle we kept them in the freezer for about 4 months and they were fine.
