There's nothing about this post that I don't like. The recipe, the wordless but methodical explanation, the soothing music. Not a wasted second. Brava, Brown Girls, again!

Why not use fresh shiitake?

Where i live. You will never find fresh. Also 99% Chinese restaurants use dried. Thanks

@williamdonahue6617 Жыл бұрын
Dried 'shrooms have more concentrated flavor and store well. I wash them before I soak them, then add the soaking water to the soup. Super recipe, as usual!

Wasupsalaam cobber......This is by far one of my favourite soups, tom yum being up there as well. I gotta fess up cobber...I gotta go on a diet;-((( Seriously....Really....This is the most feared and tragic news for a food addict;-// I am pretty focused on doing this and losing some KG's or Lb's in your lingo. Oh well at least I can watch you do the cooking and dream about what I am missing out on. No more pizza, hamburgers, fried food and tasty sweet treatslike caramel donuts and carrot cake... UGGGH!!! But I have to be strong and "man up" and do this otherwise I will become a flabulous fat piggy with a humungous saggy belly which will make it impossible for me to tie my shoelaces and no one will love or want me. Onwards and upwards...Day 2 tomorrow of torture and training and dreaming of food. I have my protein shakes and cold turkey for me, take care and god speed;-/

Bless your heart. That is what we say here in south. I know all about dieting. Trying to do that for last 6 months. Jeez. Loosing lbs (that is what we say here) aint easy. Sheeshh. I love all that u mentioned that u can’t have now. Specially donuts 😋😋thinking about it making my mouth water. Hahaha. I promise i feel your pain mate. Cricky why do we get fatttt. Wish being fat was a good thing. Lol. I would excel on that for sure. I don’t even sometimes eat my own cooking stuff when i video. Cause i am on a freaking “diet”. Lol. Stay healthy my cobber.

Rice vinegar isn't even CLOSE to the traditional taste! 'Chinkiang' vinegar is as ESSENTIAL to this recipe as white pepper is! _You dropped the ball._
