these chinese wind mppt charge controllers do work well however the label rating are falsely labeled.on 12v turbines at 400 watts the brakes come on in tandem with the dump load resistor. at 500 watts 12v the 40 amp on board fuse is reached.no were in the product specs does it say that.so i only want that to be addressed and not false claims as to the advertised ratings on this channel.

Glad I saw this video. My i1500 (24v) runs into a 12v bank and often puts out 50 or 60 amps. Great clear video. By the way, does that charge controller use solid state relays or coil relays? ( if coil, you'd hear the click click )

no ticking noises and your 24v turbine will not work with that controller on a 12v bank if it did its brakes at 12v 400 watts as it goes by the battery bank for these controllers.that is the same for me48v turbine on 24v bank blue controller shut down turbine on start up.i had to get a classic 200 to work togather as will you or a 3 phase bridge rectifier will work but a lot of power loss not effecient

how good did you find the charge parameters for lipo4 to be , was is fixed values or could you change them?

@@offgridgarage thanks for your answer do you belive that these bigger units (a bit more diffecult to find in the listings also) also will brake the turbine already at startup ? the unit looks to be hardwired different in the power in and outlet side , and the dumpload is way bigger , if the lipo4 values are set i figured i would try and run it to a bank of lead acid, but my plan is in the longer run to get a solar chargecontroller to work with a a30 and solid state relay to combine a dumpload , is this similar to what you have done with your midnight? controller,, now i am not trying to squease every ounce of power out of the unit , here now running 3x2 12v 100w panels and 2 200w 24v panels (with broken glas output about 3-5amps each) i have more power then i can use in my caravans, now offcource over time when i rebuild my house i will use slightly more power

But the question is how well does this charge controller perform on a 12v battery system. Is it actually mppt or just a pwm with a sticker that says mppt? What voltage are you get on the 3 phase input while the wind is at that speed?

Iv been given this type of controller 24/48..for a 800w turbine unfortunately I do not have the setup booklet. And unsure on how to set it up to my bty bank..very limited info on this here on KZbin.. would you be willing to do an introduction to setup video? Thanks for taking the time to read this

I cannot find specs to install solar panels with my system. I have a 2000w 24v system - the factory said 2x400watt panels. Does this sound about right - there were no stickers on the box or specs. But great informative video. Thanks

i have not tried that controller with solar but yup spot on 24v 800 watt.top voltage is 80v so if your panels exceed that togather in series ocv it will destroy the controller.however 2 400 watt panels in paralel should be fine.but i have not tested that .i would wire 2 in paralel and be watchful the first sunny day

Nice vid.Im having issues with this charge controller and im hoping you can help.I have 2 of these charge controllers and either one will not provide more than 5 watts in 20 plus mph wind.Infact when the voltage reaches about 10 volts incoming power it seems that the brakes are put on.When i use the standard charge controller that came with the turbine the turbine spins much faster taking in much better charge.I qould rather use the charge controller that has readings though. Is there something in the settings that is preventing it from reaching higher watts?? Very confused as its happening with 2 of those mppt charge controllers.Would really appreciate your help.

these charge controllers have a 80v max ceiling voltage however i had the same problem in a 24v battery bank it would not allow the turbine voltage to exceed 30v on spin up or cut in than applies the brakes.these controllers are only usable with small turbines 500 to 800 watts max that is my findings as well.i used another charge controller for the 1000 watt turbines or higher.false labeled from china.they simple hold back the turbine to protect the controller

yes you can run them to bus bars without problems thats how i like to do it as well.just be sure the wire size is correct to handle it

I have the same charge controller.48v for a 48v battery system. I use life po4 batteries.I cannot get more than 2 watts at any wind speed.Infact my turbine hardly spins even in 20mph wind. When i change out controllers I actually get piwer and speed from my 500 watt turbine.Thought on why that is??. Settings on blue Chinese controller need to be changed?

i too had the same problem test it with a 3 phase bridge rectifier you will see that controller is braking the turbine not allowing it to spin up.you need a differnt mppt charge controller

Hi, I appreciate you taking the time to put up this video but I am completely baffled by your narration. You keep repeating your self over and over again and confusing the hell out of me! My bafflement started early on in the video at 01:28 with the statement "At 24V we will use the number 25 because LiFePO(4) batteries at 25V are a dead battery." What *on Earth* does this mean? The rest is equally confusing. So, my advice is to sit down and write a script of what t is you want to say and then record that and superimpose it on your video. Hopefully the video will then be clear and about 50% shorter! Having tortured myself and listened to the entire 10 minutes, what you are saying is: 1/ For a 24V system it is a good controller 2/ If you have a 12V system, it is a good controller BUT it will ONLY handle 400W. Mother of God! Life is too short!

this is a learning channel you take the time to find negative energy in my findings than go elsewere .why post my narating to be repetative im doing the best i can to help those who need it .it appears your not one of them so quick to judge an discriminate well i struggle to work the camera as well as i cant narrate to your satisfaction simple means this video is not for you but others need my help to decide if its for them .you need to back off im not wasting time wth nay sayers like you i know i need to do better but struggle in some areas to get there so just move on without critacism if its not right for you.

I did not mean to insult you but it seems I have for which I apologise. But if you want to make useful videos to help your viewers (rather than frustrate them and waste their time) then take my criticism seriously and learn from it... If you struggle with operating the camera and narrating simultaneously then surely my advice about writing a script to work from is doubly relevant? And I am certainly not a 'nay-sayer' - if I were, why would I be even watching your video in the first place? @@offgridgarage
