These pinyin videos are incredible. I can't understand why this site's total subscribers isn't 465K instead of 4.65K.

Thanks for the lecture! I think there is a tiny miss on the video. 6:21~6:22 zi duplicates! I think it should be zi->ci->si instead of zi->si->si

First, thanks' for this series! Second, I'm a bit confused on the pronunciation parts for Zhi, Chi, Shi, and Ri mentioned @ 6:22 in this video and Zh, Ch, Sh, and R in Day 3(The Initials Video) mentioned @ 3:23. In these two videos, i cant find a difference between the pronunciations you're using are they pronounced the same? I feel like perhaps i have missed something, can you please clarify this for me? Thank you!

In chinese how to decide which tone should be placed on the vowels ?
@keystochinese09212 жыл бұрын
Hi Diya, this is a great question! Essentially, the tone mark is usually placed above the main vowel which a, o, e (there are six vowels in total, a, o, e, i, u, ü, and "i, u, and ü" are seen as secondary vowels). Where there are "a, o, or, e", the tone mark goes on top of them. When you see "ao", then the tone mark goes above "a" such as bāo. In short, when there are “a” or “e”, they always get the tone mark. If you see “ou” or “uo,” then “o” gets the mark. In addition, in "iu", "u" gets the tone mark. In "ui", "i" gets the tone mark. In "un", "u" gets the tone mark. This can be confusing at first. The more you read pinyin syllables, the better they come naturally to you.To practice, you can try to use pinyin edit website (www.chinese-tools.com/tools/pinyin-editor.html). I use this website to type pinyin syllables and I believe it can help you get familiar with pinyin. Let me know if you have further questions. I am more than happy to help :)

@@keystochinese0921 Thank you so much for replying Teacher In chinese how to decide whether 1st tone/2nd tone/3rd tone/4th tone will be placed on vowel or would it be a neutral tone ?
@bangliu15582 жыл бұрын
@@diyagoyal7688 The tone comes from the language itself, not decided by the user of it; thus, the user/learner more or les has to memorize it, that is why many people get turned off. But, don't be discouraged, it is possible.
