Lee Ho Shau and his future wife Wong Yim Sheung swam from China to Macau, and freedom, during China’s Cultural Revolution in the 1960’s. They made their new life in Sao Paolo dedicated to perfecting the fine art of Chinese cuisine. On the eve of the World Cup final, their son, Luis, recounts his passion for soccer and what it means to grow up Chinese-Brazilian. As Brazil won its championship, the streets of Sao Paulo exploded as Luis celebrated with tens of thousands of fans.

Saying Sao Paulo does not have a Chinatown is dumb, they do, because they have Chinese people in Brazil for 210 years like other countries in Latina America, all Latin America have Chinatowns right?! Even that Liberdade is the first Asian or Chinatown in Brazil right? That red gate without a Chinese green gate roof has Korea flags, but the red gate is missing a Chinese green roof!

Japanese came here first in large numbers. There are about 2 million Japanese or mixed. Liberdade is a Japan town. The Koreans and Chinese moved in. But most of the shops are Japanese Brazilian. The Sunday festival has Korean. Chinese and Japanese food, but Japanse still dominates, The gate you see is actually a Torii Japanese gate.

@@cheukkwan There is no million there, there's thousands of japanese like Koreans, but millions of Chinese as 2 million, because they came much early in Brazil the Chinese in 1812 and they should first put a Chinese gate a paifang, not tori!
