⚠️Disclaimer: “white people meal” is a literal translation of 白人饭. It refers to what Chinese international students saw their white classmates/roommates eat (typically cold sandwiches or salad) This word by no means include all European or American cuisine‼️

@@Chevy-jordanwell yah it’s “british” but it was created by people from, or descended from people from, India. It uses indian spices and is based on indian recipes. it’s DEF not what ppl are referring to when they’re talking about bland british food

@@Chevy-jordan l m a o Jesus Christ how dense can you be. it's about as British as the shit stolen from China, dude. literally colonized India, and giving the dish that came from it as the best example you have of spicy "British" food just really proves their point entirely.

British people get sensitive if you say their food is substandard. They think beans on toast is cuisine.

Are you kidding? As an American who spent two years in Germany, there is a lot of good food in Germany. I still miss it. (Different from China, obviously, but still good. Just the sausages and the breads alone make it worth going to Germany.)
@sebthi7890
@sebthi7890 Ай бұрын
@@odietamo9376 I thought of the Chinese friends who came to Germany as students and who all began to develop into experienced cooks with their mother’s advice. For example in Dresden it is rather difficult to find a good Chinese restaurant. In some cities like Berlin or Hamburg have a bigger variety. As a German I can not recommend to eat Bratwurst or Knacker, it is an attack on your health, they contain too much fat, salt and smoking elements. Good bread can only be found in artisanal bakeries, which are now fortunately being re-established.
@odietamo9376
@odietamo9376 Ай бұрын
@@sebthi7890 I agree with you in the sense that even though there is good food in Germany, Chinese students might still miss their own food and start making it. The food we grow up with is something deeply important to most people, no matter where they are from, and perhaps even more so for the Chinese, one of the world’s great food cultures. Probably not as much of a problem in the American city where I live since there is a large ethnic Chinese minority with a tremendous variety of restaurants. Otherwise I’m afraid I cannot agree with you about Bratwurst or Knacker. Nothing but force of violence would keep me away from sausages in Germany. Attack on my health? I’m not suggesting eating it for every meal of the day, but come on: the “fat, salt, and smoking elements” (smoking elements?) are probably what result in the flavor. You sound a bit like the health nannies I have to deal with in California. As for bread, I never was referring to supermarket bread, but I was in both small towns and big cities in Germany in 1992/93: Munich, Marburg, and Berlin, and every town or neighborhood had a real bakery, a stand alone bakery-not sure what you mean exactly by “artisanal” bakery-ALL of which sold INCREDIBLE bread. Expensive, but really good. I could happily live on that bread and sausage, with a vegetable and occasional fruit added. Not to mention the fantastic cheeses in Germany, and other dairy products that don’t exist in the US, such as Quark. But now I’ve made myself hungry. Incidentally, if you are German, I have to say you write almost perfect English-better than many native born Americans today. (Primary and secondary education, especially in reading and math, have declined drastically in the US in recent years. The dumbing down of America.)
