Type 97 should get reliability points, mcr will have problems after 1000 rounds like roll pin and stuff like that while the type 97 will last 5000 rounds easily without a single issue.

The T97’s barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome lined, which should improve the service life and ease of maintenance. Being piston operated it should run cleaner, too.

Even though the mcr is ar180 design, the ar15 and ar180 design have been around for 70 years and still in production and still nothing better replacing them. The only significant choice is a di or piston version.

Here is something many may not know. The gen 3 anyway, with the bolt closed on an empty chamber, if you dry fire it, and then turn it to safe before cycling it. It puts the gun in safe / safe mode and it will not allow the bolt to travel back far enough to chamber a round from the mag until you turn the safe off again. Now thats only if the safe is applied once the bolt is closed and dry fired. I guess in safe / safe if someone was able to get your gun from you they likely wouldn't be able to chamber a round before you could engage them again or run clear to safety.

I feel that, currently, the T97 would get the edge because it is available and backorderable, whereas I haven't seen a WS MCR anywhere to buy since I first learned about it back in September (although maybe that's also due to me interested in purchasing the one chambered in .224 Valkyrie)

What is so special about .224 over 5.56 ?
@aceshighdueceslow
@aceshighdueceslow 3 жыл бұрын
you can have heavier bullets, leading to a better BC and energy retention at further distances. Basically, it is a flatter shooting .223 that isn't as hard on your barrel as a .220 Swift or .22-250 and isn't as expensive as either of them. Outside of ammo being slightly more expensive I think the only downside to the .224 is because of the SPC case you can't use 5.56 mags but the SPC sized mags aren't unicorns so it isn't a huge drawback

Putting a piece of duck tape (heavy duty one) on the trigger guard, where your index finger is going to touch, can work as a second stage trigger, external, see if help.
