Body proportion is one aspect, and the muscle strength of certain parts is also decisive. During the second pull, the Double Knee Bend (引膝) technique of the Chinese weightlifting system reserves more knee angles and exerts more leg strength, while the Russian technique hardly reserves the knee angles and exerts more hip strength. A person with stronger leg strength should be more inclined to Chinese techniques, and a person with greater waist and hip strength (such as klokov who has very strong pulls) will have better results when they choose Russian techniques. However, it is not that simple. We take a specific example: Shizhiyong’s waist is relatively short, so technically he has more waist and hip strength. (It's not wrong cuz his pull is very strong). At the same time, his arms are long (longer arms will lead to lower contact point, which is bad in the chinese weightlifting system). In theory, he should go with the Russian way. In fact, when we watched Shi’s early video, he did use more hip power, which does not look like traditional Chinese weightlifting techniques. Shi has been adjusting his skills since 2011. In the end, he still found that for himself, retaining more knee angles and using more leg strength will bring better results. His solution to overly long arms is to actively bend them to obtain a higher contact point. Many people think that their arms are relatively long (some of them don't even have very long arms that would cause a low contact point) so they chose the russian way, which is not necessarily the best for them. Some people think that their limbs are relatively short so they choose the Chinese way, but their waist and hip strength is much greater than their leg strength. My point is: Eventually everyone should try more to find the best way for them, instead of making simple choices between Chinese technique and Russian technique. Brief notes on the Double Knee Bend(引膝) technique: To extend the hip while actively flexing both knees to complete the concessional work. Before reaching the contact point, continue to stretch the hips and extend the body, so that the barbell rises close to the body. At the same time, move the knee forward and push the hip so that the hip is approaching the barbell. Knees and hips move forward to the center of gravity line, and at the same time, when the hip is continuously extended and the upper body is lifted with the bell, the barbell also approaches the center of gravity line.

The anatomy of the two are very different. They both use their bodies in totality. The only difference and literally the only difference is their feet placement. Chinese are taught to stay grounded and push with the legs. Russians are taught to jump i.e. push extensively until the feet come up off the ground and land their feet by pulling themselves under the bar. No real difference in tech. Just methodologies, and anatomy. I understand your video tho. Also people don't think about coaching cues. What could work for me won't work for anyone else. The word "Dip" doesn't work for me. I lose tension and I lose the weight. "Push" because I have to physically feel my legs to keep tension throughout the entire movement.
