My goodness, chinking is a long, arduous process. I can’t imagine what it will be like as you get to the higher logs. You’re leaning a bit…the back is telling you something? Probably the scything. Can you imagine cutting down a whole field of wheat!? Keep on chinking….your work is beautiful and so precise.

@@graceveenema4762 leaning? No, and my back are fine - thanks, but it is harder than you think, so no wheatfields here.. on the higher gaps I'll have to use a ladder, and figure out some kind of a smart solution to get the mortar in a handy place. All the best Michael

too bad you don't like the color without the dye. But you have a vision for what you want. So go for it. Glad you had a good time with the family. :D

Howdy Michael- you’ll get the chinking down the way you want it. Sometimes you have to play with it to get what you want. Take care and God bless

@@TheBeardedCarpenter Hi Paul. I did expect it to be more grey, but not that light gray. Now I'm waiting again, and hope my samples will bring me to a decision on the color. All the best Michael

I love the gray color. I think it works so well with the logs. It looks like an authentic cabin. However white is generally the original color. It's a long job ahead of you. Best wishes.

@@bluwtrgypsy I do too, but I also think it looks a bit to much like a sidewalk. Yeah, it's gonna take some time, but that's how it is. All the best Michael

Looking good Michael. Nice that little sister made it to your place. How far away does she live ? My little sister is 2 miles away. Chinking is a slow going process. When it’s done it’ll be a day of celebration I bet. I’ve been pretty busy and have a couple more of your vlogs to catch up on. Always a pleasure to watch you work! Thanks , Terry

@@terryatpi it was some nice days with family visiting. They live around 200 miles away. The chinking is okay, but what slows me down are the time it takes to dry up, while I'm trying to find the right color, and then of course the rain, but I think I've got the color in place. Now I'm waiting for dry weather, and then it's just to get on with it. All the best Michael

Hallo Mischa, ich dachte die beiden Fladen am Ende auf dem Holz das wären die Fischfrikadellen und das mit der Sense lass mal sein. Nimm eine Schraube und schraub sie an das Scheunentor. Schöne Tage.🤓

I agree that the natural is too white. But I'm not sure which dyed sample will look best. It's kind of one of those things you have see it to know what you like best.

@@quarlow1215 I'll have to wait a few days and then decide what I'm gonna use on the chinking. All the best Michael
