ChinVlogs - Adopting A Chinchilla!

Hey guys, I'm very excited about today's vlog! I just thought I would film the process of adopting and brining home the newest addition to the chinchilla notebook family, which is Zorro! LazyUnicornXP an animal rescue near my house that kept their chins in tiny cages not even suitable for hamsters. i think they just wanted to get rid of them and i didn’t know much about chins at the time so i thought it was fine. probably explains why he was so cheap

$15?! Oml. I see how he could be $15 since he was kept in a cage a lot like that. A standard grey chinny from a breeder is around $130-170. My chin was $150

OMG! I never imagined you'd get a 2nd chin knowing what you said about Merlin. I'm so excited for you. Patience patience patience patience etc. You'll know soon enough but the best thing about having more than one chin is when they call each other. My wife says it's their call of solidarity; an almost moaning bleeping noise Example: "HMMMPH, hmmph, hmmph, hmmph." It's very distinct and when they are sleeping, it's the first thing they'll do when they wake. It's like: "Hey! I'm here. When are you?" My chins even respond when I imitate them!

What do you do when you first get him? Mines scared of me. Do I just not touch him and leave him by himself in the cage for a few days?

When I got my second chinchilla the place we were rescuing from said he is a lazy animal and is never active and that they were going to put him down. But chins are mainly active around night time so they never saw him play that often because they were never there at night. I'm a little worried about the workers job, if they dont know that chinchillas are nocturnal animals, I don't think they should be working there. Honesty. But now Kylo is living a happy life with his "brother" Chewie. They are based off of star wars characters. My chins bonded very well surprisingly. Thanks for reading my story. And we did get get the chins for 50- 75 dollars each.
