You and I are going to drink a lot of coffee together. Like, borderline dangerous amounts of coffee.
So, first things first. Pour yourself a mug and I’ll introduce myself real quick.
My name’s Jordan - but everyone calls me “J” - and I’m a 27th degree black belt in chugging coffee.
I’m also strength & nutrition coach, I hold several powerlifting world records, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have my writing featured in a variety of outlets like CNN, the Huffington Post, and Schwarzenegger.com.
But listen.
This channel isn’t for fame, publicity, cash, props, fist bumps, likes, pings, pows or whatever else there is.
It’s a place where you and I can chat.
I’ll never sugar coat, lie, or beat around the bush. I’ll tell you everything exactly as I see it. Some stuff you might like. Others you might not.
And that’s totally cool.
Either way, my goal here is to create a discussion. A place where you and I can get together, exchange ideas, and motivate each other to be better every day.
Like I said, we’re gonna drink a lot of coffee together - borderline dangerous amounts - but I’m excited. Because there aren’t too many online communities in which the sole purpose is to inspire and motivate one another.
And that’s exactly what you and I are going to do here.

I wish more people were educated when it comes to nutrition. Definitely should be put into the school curriculum. The amount of people who say, oh, I’m on a diet and then choose the chicken Cesar salad off a menu.

Great video Jordan, absolutely fantastic showing people what you can get in a great meal from them as a healthier option for people dieting. I also like the simple fact that you tell people that all the ingredients are inherently good for you but why you shouldn't put them in your meal if your dieting due to extra calories. Look forward to more like this from Moe's, or any of the other chain restaurants like this.

I’m not trying to lose fat I’m just maintaining but I usually order a burrito bowl with brown rice, lettuce, beans, chicken, veggies, salsa and guacamole. I’ll get some cheese or chips when I feel like it

On my rest days when I feel tired I occasionally like to eat a Chipotle bowl with Brown Rice, Black Beans, and extra chicken. I really do think it helps with my recovery.

Salad Bowl w/Romain lettuce, chicken,grilled veggies,mild salsa. It was very tasty & satisfying. Pricey @ $10, Great nutritional fast food option when in a pinch.

I ain't spending $7.50 for a 200 calorie snack 😂 you're out your damn mind for that lol! Most people are going to be eating around 2000 kcal a day give or take, unless you're bulking or just have more lean muscle/higher metabolism. I'd at least get a 500 calorie meal if I'm going to chipotle at minimum.

Nothing wrong with splurging, but i mean who in their right mind is going to chipotle to spend $7.50 for a bird snack? 🤣 why wouldn't I just buy a protein bar with 40g of protein and 350 calories for $3?? Make it make sense

Most common myth I hear on a calorie deficit diet is "you're not losing weight because you're eating too little calories" or "not eating enough causes starvation mode where you can't lose any more weight" 🙄

Mine is the belief that low fat foods ie low-fat or nno fat yogurt, salad dressings, cream cheese etc are actually good for you.

Not necessarily a food, but I would love you opinion on eating super-low salt. I find the issues with a lot of foods at restaurants that are marketed as “healthy” have 800+ and upwards of 1000mg of sodium.

Chipotle is super guilty in this area. The Burrito I like (chicken, pico, hot sauce, corn) is about 2000 mg of Sodium! Yikes.

Well you can choose "light" sour cream or "light" beans. I am able to get a 500 calorie bowl that has pretty much all the things I like. But it helps that I hate rice lol But good video

I have heard that eating to little of caloric intake can cause you body to hold on to weight. But I heard in one of you post that’s not true. And what happens if you eat too little calories.

The whole "starvation mode" bit is a myth. If your body held onto fat form eating too few calories, why don't we see any fat anorexic's? Eating too few calories doesn't put your body in starvation mode. It can mess with your emotions and mind which leads to binges (and weight gain). But it doesn't cause your bodies metabolism to shut down.

My biggest nutrition peeve I hear is when people say quinoa is high in protein. A complete protein? Yes, but high in protein? No, it’s high in carbs

Depends. Are you eating Wonderbread type bread and if you eating so called good bread how much bread do you eat? For me personally, fresh baked bread, will pack on weight if I eat too much.
