Chipping your Nissan 240sx ECU ka24de/sr20det

This video will start you off with the basics on how to chip/add a daughterboard to your ecu. This works with ka24de and sr20det. Depending on the response I will continue to show how to successfully burn a .BIN tune to the chips and to further develop your tuning.

Good video. I have done EEPROM tuning before using TunerPro on a Bosch Motronic system and now will start on our KA24det (7 psi boost daily driver). I went to 240-sx.com, but did not see your *.bin files. Have you made any new videos or do you plan on updating websire?

Ok and yes please could you make a video on the screw adjustment on the side cuz idk I can't find anything out about it and I wanna see and know more lol cuz I thought it was tunable by adjusting it

Sure, no problem. You will see reading codes is very easy. When you turn the knob you are telling the ecu to go into diagnostics mode, and it will show you codes. It isn't for tuning in anyway.

do you know electronic throttle controller? it can not only accelerate throttle response but also slow down throttle response of your car. It can provide you with racing car driving experience and also save fuel if you choose the economy mode. It is different from ECU tuning, it does no harm to your car .

I was in the process of making a full tutorial on adjusting timing and fuel maps but I ended up selling one of my 240's which happened to be the one I was tuning/recording with. I'm currently building another SR engine so I will make one once I'm finished with it.

I don't have any single cam ECU or I would. The best way to work with the Single cam ECU is go AFC"Air Fuel Controller" something like Apexi AFC they are roughly 100-120 on ebay and are extremely easy to use.

I know it's been a long 10 years but this video is really helpfull. I'm working with sr20de+t build and would like to know if there is any chance author or anyone else in community could direct me about putting the tune on the chips, like what kind of software to use and what kind of adapters are needed to flash the eprom

you need a moates chip burner, and their software for it. You can use a tuning software to edit it such as tuner pro to edit and save, and the burner software to burn it to the chip it self.

@@slowphased this day and age you're better off buying a plug and play standalone for it's safety features and it's simplicity for tuning. You can get a link plug and play or a ecumaster with a jumper harness ans save yourself lots of headache.

I have no problem doing it for you. Honestly it would be best if you learned how to do it yourself so you can understand exactly what your doing. Here is a simple tutorial on what you need to chip your ecu along with links where to buy the supplies. 240-sx.net/beginners-guide-tuning/ It depends on what is done to your car, simple intake, exhaust and headers along with a tune can give you slightly more power.

No, single cams are unable to be tuned. The easiest way to get some wiggle room is using a piggy back like an AFC. If you are going ITB you might want to look into a standalone. ITB single cam is very uncommon. Properly built and tuned you can get maybe 20-45hp at best, reliably.

Chipping for n/a is fine and will work just fine. You can burn a stock tune and it will work just how it did before. With the chip installed you can change a few parameters do add timing for more power, add fuel, or pull timing out for turbo aplications. I just used my last ECU I had for a friends car. If you can get your hands on a spare ecu and want it chipped so you can get it tuned feel free to email me [e-mail] I will chip if Free if you buy the parts and I can send it back with a base tune so you can drive it.

agustin rojas No you can not. A single cam is a standard 8bit chip and can not except a 16 bit daughterboard. If you want to adjust your single cam I suggest getting a AFC"Air Fuel Controller" by Apexi or anything else. This allows you to adjust the voltage to the mass air flow sensor confusing it to adjust fuel. Similar to a piggyback system. You can find them on ebay for 30-100$. Super easy to use and great if you don't know how to tune ecu.

Also I have a question are the stock ecu's tuneable why do they have a turn screw on them what does it do? I have been wondering for the longest time lol

Stock ECU are NOT tunable as they are currently, The chip that stores the tune is not reprogrammable. So the stock tune can not be changed. The purpose of this video allows you to change where the ECU looks to find the tune, it stops reading the stock tune and reads where the new chip is. The screw you see on the side is for "Diagnostics Mode" which I can make a video on it if you would like. When your having an issue with your car, and you want to check if your ECU is throwing codes, you turn it and the light inside flashes. It tells you what codes are being thrown. Example: you turn it, turn they ignition key on, and the light flashes, 5 slow flashes then 5 fast flashes, slow flashes are the first number so 5, then fast flashes are the second number so 5. This makes code 55 is being thrown, 55 is the code for everything is fine. 1 slow flash followed by 2 fast is code 12 and so on.
