I had a pain that was in my shoulder blade for about 12 years, one of my wrestlers that I was training, father was a chiropractor. He fix my shoulder. Pain never came back. He said my shoulder blade was rubbing against my ribcage and this was causing the pain. Now I tell all my wrestlers to go to chiropractor I've help wrestlers get back on the mat that had shoulder injuries with strength training along with sending them to chiropractors. Well, if he "fixed" it with a single treatment, it wasn't frozen shoulder. Lots of people leave these kinds of treatments feeling much better, but by the next day (or in a few hours or less) significant pain and dysfunction usually returns. Neuro inhibition of pain (what an adjustment primarily does) doesn't last that long and can take many treatments to make significant progress (assuming it's not natural history anyway).

Hey man. I recommend you go see an osteopath. Im a student myself and it sounds like your nerves could be getting impinged when in your sleeping position. It would really help the practitioner if your signifigant other or a friend took images of your exact sleeping position/positions before going for that visit. The issue could be in your cervical vertebrae foramen(aka holes where the nerves go through) or it could be the scaleni muscles that beau mentioned. It could be many different things but you will only find out if you find a solid osteopath, chiro or OMT physical therapist. But take those pics before you go because there is something about that position that squeezes those nerves and that is in laymans terms NO BUENO. Either way I hope it resolves.

One health professional to another, it doesn’t look like/ sound like it was a frozen shoulder. He never said he had near complete loss of AROM/ PROM or spoke of symptoms that resemble adhesive capsulitis. Maybe ACJ arthropathy or similar. You know AC is a loss of active and passive ROM but did you test passive ROM loss? If his pathophysiology was inidcating adhesive capsulitis you wouldn’t have focused on “impingement” and shoulder positioning and he wouldn’t have shown a rapid recovery due to the underlying ‘freezing’/ capsular stiffening. It takes months to years to address AC/ frozen shoulder and this is concensus. Correct? If he was diagnosed with FS/ AC it was a poor diagnosis. Ultimately though, a good functional result and I like the focus on activation/ release of some of those imbalances and tightness. You also feel a heart attack directly over the chest wall at the relative site of the heart.

He seems like a real nice guy, but, I didn’t see a whole lotta change in his abduction. Also, I can see the hammer with trying to push the humerus inferiorly but, it’s a little bit too much force and not as specific when he was using it on the back. As a chiropractor myself, who has been doing it longer than this guy probably has been alive, I think he did a good job with the soft tissues and trying to break up the restrictions and adhesions but, this was only one session it may need multiple sessions. I think the gain that the patient made was adequate for one treatment but it was advertised on here that he fixed it, he did not fix it. I would’ve mentioned that he needs some follow up work. People who put up videos and say they fixed something when they actually didn’t just to get more attention, I don’t really agree with but, I think the guy did a decent job. He was educational and discussed what he was doing with the patient. I understand where he’s coming from since I was a competitive bodybuilder for 40 years. There may be more to this than meets the eye. I would want to see the x-ray and the MRI report to give us more of a picture.

Great content as always. The camera operator might want to think about using more medium shots so that the camera doesn't have to rotate the camera back and forth so often when each participant speaks.

Why does dr beau highertower ban everyone from his comments section? makes me think chiro practitioners are dodgy. I have a bad upper back and was curious about seeing one.

I've torn 2 muscle groups. My left pec major in '02 and my right tri longhead in '16. Both tore in the belly of the muscle, outside the gym. Since these are both pressing muscles, my shoulders are recruited more to compensate for the loss. The front delts get worked more using less weight. The rear are more susceptible to injury. I've learned a lot from my chiropractor and massage therapist. I have my own sports stim unit that I still use on my injuries, which helps a lot. I've battled shoulder impingements for along time. Rest, stretching, ice, etc. are all good, but those damn "knots" will still be there. I can help other people, but for myself, I've had to invent therapy. Pressure point has always worked the best for me, but how do I apply a lot of pressure in a small area? Most knots are found around and behind the shoulder blade. I went to Hobby Lobby and got board 12"x 9" board and a pack of Wood Shaker Pegs for under $10. Using the diameter drill bit as the blunt end of the peg, I drilled holes in the board about the same width as in between my shoulder blades. If the holes are correct, the blunt end of the peg should stay in the board. The drill holes all around the holes. Then, I'd lay my board on the floor with a pillow for my head. Can place some small pillows around pegs so they don't press so hard. Slowly lay back on the pegs. Match the smooth top to your worst pain spot. May take a few times and peg adjustments, but you'll know when you hit it. Be prepared experience tons of endorphins. Stretching and strengthening exercises should be more effective a few times of this. Do visit your therapist and attack the pain with everything.

I used to be addicted to working out , I worked out everyday since I was five , many times two three times a day , I suffered from swollen ripping muscle that cascaded my entire body, and one day I discovered KZbin and Cheetos , thankfully my life changed forever, I'm 25 years workout free

Massage therapy is proven to relieve pain and improve range of motion. It’s not all suggestion, but this is simply massage therapy.
