I have those same 6 boutiques except the JU-06, I've got the D-05 though. Next up is the SH-01a. Glad to see I'm not the only one who loves the boutique series. I think it's amazing I can have a miniature tabletop version of such iconic pieces of Roland gear that is actually made by Roland. I have an Analog Heat on the way to try and make up for whatever analog sound may be missing from Roland's already excellent ACB technology. I think these may very well be highly collectible in about ten or twenty years, look at the price of the JU-06 already. I guess you could say I'm a Roland Boutique fanboy...

Great mini studio setup! Very impressive and looks like a great workflow. I just re-set up my studio with my two Boutiques and the Korg Electribe fitting nicely on the pull out keyboard drawer. It is so important to have some kind of a desktop set up where we aren't leaning over synths to program. Keep our backs healthy! :0

Thanks for the kind words. I'm still figuring out the video aspect. My current setup is a Roland Go:Mixer which sends stereo audio directly to my Samsung S5, but I'm stuck using their no-frills video capture app which has no features (i.e. no manual focus). The camera is mounted to a mic stand so I can place it higher than when I was using a standard tripod. The wide angle is from a clip-on lens for the phone. I love being able to record video/audio in one take and upload straight to KZbin from the phone, but it comes with a cost. Since you've apparently mastered the video aspect (your videos are amazing!) any tips are greatly appreciated! Peace \/.

+Denis Polic Thanks! I don't know what happened. Last year I was producing exclusively ITB using an iPad mini 4 and now I'm using almost all hardware like when I first started. I guess I've come full circle. Love the sounds of the Boutiques. Peace \/.

Welcome back, I have always hated making music on computer, I don't even use them to record anymore, now using a Zoom24track stand-alone. I have two software synths I rarely use (Arturia Keylab and SampleTank), the rest is hardware.

Chisel316 hey man this is awesome. Just curious are you running all you boutiques thru the engine? Then just switch the midi channel to play the boutiques thru the keystep? Or do the u have ur jp08 ju06 jx03 chained together? Also is possible chain a ju06 with jp08 to add more poly voices?

Thanks, Johnny. In this video I have the Engine and Keystep merged so I can use either device to control any Boutique. Today, I have the Reface DX in place of the Keystep, but it serves the same purpose. I think you can only chain the same Boutiques, but I never tried that. I actually have an iOS app that does MIDI chaining.

Brill! I’m considering getting an engine .. can you sequence notes and cc changes in the same track or does this have to be done on a control track? I want to max the tracks for synth and drum type tracks, but can you assign the engine knobs per track to send midi cc without losing a track even if you can’t sequence the knob movements? Cheers

James Ingleby Thanks for listening, James! You can only sequence CC messages on control tracks (6 per track), but you can assign 6 CC messages per any track for live control.

I’ve heard it’s 4 note polyphony, is that per track or total?
@chisel316

+James Ingleby Per track with the option to have all notes start/stop at the same time or have each note play independently.
