How Does a Veterans Age Affect VA Claims?

Approximately 1976 I went to the VA in Pittsburgh. For nearly 50 yrs. I never went back . They were so bad , now thanks to people like you I tried them again. My son is a Veteran also , & he forced me to go . "GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU " ! I thank you guys every day !! KEN , Ocala Florida

Because of veterans like you and countless other veterans who shined the light on how bad the VA USED to be it is now a great place to receive health care, get claims processed quicker and a more professional staff. I am a 75 year old combat veteran with VA acknowledged hypertension but denied payable disability because they say my blood pressure is not high enough to qualify. I was exposed to agent orange in Vietnam. The Va has been medicating me for the purpose of keeping my blood pressure lower for years. Am I stupid or should I stop talking my prescriptions medication so I can qualify and die? I have filled for the PACT ACT 3 times and got denied 3 times. THE JOKE IS ON ME, 199 th Lt Infantry rifleman.

Wrong, Brian. That is, if you are talking about reexaminations. Reference 38 CFR 3.327(b)(2) iv.... "(2) No periodic future examinations will be requested. In service-connected cases, no periodic reexams... (iv) In cases of veterans over 55 years of age, except under unusual circumstances;"

Always great info young lady,and its good to hear from so many sources and Law Firms should be tops,in conjunction with tubers like Combat Craig,Veterans info tap etc and they refrence law firms and all great works/info.Thanks for your info and been subscribed for a while,even though im 100% P&T im still learning and sharing info with other vets and we thank you for your service and how you help the Veterans.

Yeah I’m still learning too. It’s always good to know the law and stay updated even at 100%. Laws change all the time and there could be relevant information.

I am 80 but did not know that I had to ask for my case to be expedited. I've been waiting 1 year to receive my claim.
