My first Swiss watch was the black dial hydro conquest on bracelet. The bracelet started to scratch up quite a bit, so I picked up an oem rubber strap and love it all the more. It’s been almost 3 years now, and I am still loving it. Excellent versatile watch

To me there's no doubt. The hydroconquest is a diver watch and the deep blue color resembles the ocean.

I bought the watch with black rubber strap back face and yellow gold surround on the bezel and winder. Wow what a watch and owing Rolex and Tudor I can assure you that this is one amazing time piece and outstanding value for money. In many ways it is my favourite watch and having the non reflective lens on both sides blows the R & T away. Trust me just take a look!

@@secordman I have the 39mm one. The bracelet is pretty garbo if I'm honest, it's sharp and it can be quite a hair puller, not to mention the clasp is just not good. I swapped it out with an Omega NATO strap and have been pretty happy with it since. Owned it for 6 months and still enjoying it. Also there's nothing wrong with a rubber strap, as long as it's comfortable. Honestly think of it this way -- Rolex made rose-gold Daytonas with Oysterflex rubber strap and they remained so desirable that people can't even get them even if they have hundreds of thousands of mollah to throw at it, more than ready to even pay above retail for it. So you telling yourself spending so much should mandatorily have a bracelet is such a narrow mindset that fail to appreciate luxury timepieces as a whole. And the good thing about rubber straps are they're not gonna get scuffed up as much as stainless steel if you're wearing them rough.

Nice one Harrison. Always enjoy seeing anything Longines related. I think they’re an excellent brand. I’m always hankering after the heritage pieces, but still love the sport models 👍. For the hydro….either Matt green or that beautiful grey 👌👏

It's part of my collection. Oddly, I have never been into Rolex or Omega. I really like the design and the adapted (ETA) in-house l.888 movement. Trust me, it's a GOOD movement. I am getting +/- 2 seconds day - it is just a few months old so time will tell (no pun) but thus far it's amazing. The metal strap should be changed in its next iteration - I'd probably buy an original Longines s/s strap if they came up with a clasp lock type just for this watch.

@@adriannasyraf3534 I have a £90 G shock and it’s accurate to 1 second over a year and if it goes out of time by more than a second at any time then it will self correct.

I also have a blue Hydroconquest. It looks so much nicer than the G shock…perfect timing isn’t everything. See it as a piece of jewellery that also tells the time.

Also if we wanna compare purely on quartz alone Citizen 0100 caliber is the most accurate quartz watch you can get. But you won't be paying that much money over its design, I'm sure.

As the workmanship of L888.5 is very beautiful, we just don't understand why Longines NOT issue the see-through (Back) version for the Hydroconquest watches. In 2019, under the same Swatch Group, Tissot Seastar 1000 have already issued the see-through version watches with 300M water resisitant and the price is only HALF of the Hydroconquest .

I don't understand the obsession of visible caseback. You don't wear your watch upside down. Please get over that silly attachment that every mechanical watch needs a visible caseback as if it's some MANDATORY thing. Rolex never does it and yet it remained a desirable timepiece to all. Same goes for Tudor.

I've just purchased the black and rose gold version and am loving it. I had a Hydroconquest years ago but always felt the dial was a bit cluttered. Longines have addressed that now and in my opinion they've knocked it out of the park. Thanks for your video and look forward to more.

Just as I was moving away from the Longines HC and onto possible purchase of the Tudor Pelagos, I see a review like this with the HC on black strap. Once again I am in a quandary, What an absolutely blinding beautiful combo 🏆 for Longines, for now.

I love the bezel but the dial looks lacking, almost bare and disproportionate with it. I really wished they fully launched the blue USA limited edition ceramic Hydronquest with the additional applied indices that the old model had. That is how it should have looked.

I thought I wanted the grey. I tried it out and it is even nicer in person. I now lean towards the black because somehow I'm thinking it is more versatile. Also the grey rubber strap doesn't cut it for me. Maybe the grey with a black strap? Nah. Odd. So black it is for me? 🤔😂🙈🤔 I want to wear it daily and don't as comfortable with that much shine. I'm not a fan of that particular steel bracelet for that very reason. So black it is. Anyone who would like to pitch in some thoughts please feel free to comment below👇

The Rubber Strap version is IMPOSSIBLE to adjust its length to suit your wrist during normal daily usage (if you have NO tools), in addition, even you have tools, there is limited room for you to adjust.

The ceramic bezel is HARD to rotate comparable to other watches, in addition, under the normal/stable situation, there is a little "SPACE" or "GAP" in the ceramic bezel, you can feel it when you touch and slightly move the bezel.
