Agree with you Tammy! Live every day and enjoy the things you love ! The China , the silver etc! No one else will love it as much as you ! Also I want to tell you I’ve been treating my hair every week to the oils you recommended ! Wow, my hair is so shiny and soft ! It’s never felt this good! I always coloured my hair , 38 years and I’m slowly transitioning to white/grey hair! Just want to thank you for the info on the treatment! I’m 63 years young and finally my hair is not dry and brittle any more!!!

I'm downsizing this year also. I'm 55 and sold my 4BR/3 bath house with yard and am having a brand new 2 bedroom/2.5 bath townhouse built, which will be ready next month. I can't wait! No yard at all just a nice little courtyard. I got rid of so much stuff, it felt great mentally but physically.....whew, never again. My girls are grown, I work from home and I am living my best life!

I feel for you Tammy, we did it 3 years ago, 4 children and all their stuff and 40 years worth of ours, the stuff I saved for the kids, all got thrown out, they didn’t want any of it!! I had baby outfits dry cleaned!! All that $$$!! We tried to sell our house and build another much smaller one at same time, the stress at our age almost killed us, physical and mental, as a result I think 3 times before buying anything!

Good morning , yes I have downsized . I also have had to go through many of my Mothers , Fathers , belongings Uncles and Aunts , Grandparents too . Not only don’t the kids or anyone else want these things but the value of all these once very expensive pieces have depreciated it to practically nothing monetarily wise . I understand and agree with you whole heartily . You as always look Lovely and your content is a blessing . I fit in and that means the world to me , being included in the beauty world after 60 is such a healthy and happy feeling . ❤️🌹

So good to see you Tammy-as always, love your videos and chats! When I moved, going into 5th year, from Connecticut to New Mexico, I too had to go through 25 years of stuff. We gave away or donated about 3/4 of what we had, taking only what we absolutely needed or loved. I think in saving items for “special” occasions we try to “preserve”them so they don’t break, get stained or damaged somehow. But by doing that we also deprive ourselves of the joy the item brings us. So- my words of wisdom line up with yours- if you love it, use it/wear it and if ya don’t- get rid of it❤️Lily

Tammy thank you so much for demonstrating several of these products. I have been looking into Tom Ford and I just purchased a lipstick and yes it's definitely not inexpensive but, it's a beautiful lipstick and I love it. I own several of the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks and I love them also, I'm kind of a lipstick junkie. I love what you have to say all of the time because it is so sensible! The conversation about people keeping things, and then when they die the family especially if you live in senior housing, they put them in the community room and people just come by and take things that other people have kept for years and years. You are so correct in so many of the topics that you have covered which is why I so enjoy listening to your videos❣️

I been asking my children, sisters and nieces if they want something from my house and there is a few things but not much. So I decide once and while to give away my stuff to an organization to help people in need. I want my home to be serene and not complicated. There is enough of that in the world. We got rid of a lot of our stuff when we moved here a few years ago and I am pleased to say that we have stayed on top of it! About a month ago, I was sick of looking at my closet and ended up trying on every piece of clothing! If it did not fit perfectly, if the color was not perfect, if I had to keep adjusting it, if it was too short or too long, out it went! Now my husband has decided to do the same! Glad to see you back on camera, you did great! Take care - Barbara

We did the same thing when we moved to our last house 🤞6 years ago, we got rid of all our stuff and just kept what we wanted and bought new furniture for this house, our other furniture wouldn’t fit in this house. We let our kids take what they wanted and we gave the other stuff away. My sister and niece took my bedroom set and paintings, best thing we ever did.🥰

I've been thru several moves and downsizing since selling my townhouse in 2008. I'm down to the perfect sized 2bedrm, 2 bath 1000sq ft apt. Moves are never easy, but every time I sell, donate, throw away stuff I feel so much freer. Now I have only what I really use. I highly recommend this to all my friends. It's exactly as you said, Tammy, u will be burdening others after u have passed. BTW..loved today's look on u. I've tried and liked other Trish McEvoy products but not the mascara. I will give it a try when I need my collection replenished.

I felt your exhaustion and hard work through your process, we sold our home after 18 years, I gave away tons of stuff to family and the good will. And after we moved and relocated to a rental while building our new home we gave more stuff away, no longer would work after the rental house in our new home, finally moved into our forever home and so happy to have a home again! It feels so invigerating to have been free of all the stuff. I felt the same way, give it to those to want them while your alive, so others don't need to go through it. (I am a young 64 yrs) Less dusting too, I kept my most presious items and have everything I need. I have had and do have beautiful things and went from Mediterranean decor to modern decor with the open concept and a smaller home. I love, love it that I don't have so much to clean and care for, like you I like to clean my own home. Life is a adventure and a joy, so many new memories to look forward too! I loved the family gatherings, dinners, etc. too. Now I don't really want to do that anymore, so we order in or go out to our very cute town and our visitor's love any of it. I do make brunch for friends when they come and that's very easy and can be down ahead. This is such a great time in life and so much fun with my amazing husband, today off to the beach! Thanks for being you! And I am so happy you are back, love the videos, I think of you as a friend. ox

This was a very inspiring chat. It really made me think. I have a teapot that my grandmother bought for me, and I've never used it. It sits in the cupboard (glass cabinet) on "display" with all my fancy tea cups. I absolutely love it, but for some reason I consider it "too good" and "too special" to use everyday. I also have a set of dishes that I bought and absolutely love, but have only used a few times. I'm so afraid I'm going to break a plate and will not be able to replace it. I need to start enjoying the things I really love and use them while I still can. Thank-you, Tammy. ♥

The teapot is no double irreplaceable, but unless you are sure someone in your family will want it, I encourage you to go ahead and use it. Even if it gets damaged, better that than having it end up in the home of a stranger. As for your other good dishes, check the Replacements, Ltd. Website for your pattern. While replacing a piece might be expensive, at least you will know that you can! E-bay is also a good resource for china.

Just a suggestion. A friend of my mom’s sets her dinning room table for each season or holiday. She includes all of the decor for the season or holiday. Tammy, going thru almost thirty years was emotional as heck. I am a “saver”. You are 100% correct, our children doesn’t want our “junk”. We gave them so much stuff to go thru. Their team jackets, cheerleading outfits, a gazillion prom & pageant dresses, plus all of the beautiful items they made us at school. We cried, we laughed & they tossed most of it. It killed me, but like you said they don’t want all this junk. We have downsized so much. We are building what we think is our last forever home & I will be using everything like you said. No more special dishes. We are going to enjoy them & make more memories daily.

Love your beautiful spirit and heart, Tammy! Glad you are getting settled and have new perspective with "stuff." Funny that I viewed this video today as I posted a "get rid of your stuff" message on FB today. Will have to send you the link as it is perfect for your video. Yes, we moved too. But we kinda upsized after downsizing. Crazy, I know. Our family grew and grew and grew! And they depended on us for holiday events. Our blended family of six children ended up with 16 grandchildren. So we went from our little downsized nest of 1800 sq to a bit larger open plan of 2600 sqf w/pool for the kids and grandkids. Now it's almost 10 years later and I'm ready for another move to a quiet country setting. But hubby loves it here near his best friend and his "hobby shop." So we may be here until the "end." lol! We shall see! LOL! Don't know how we will get rid of some "stuff" as hubby still oves his big Christmas light and music show that he puts on for the community. It's a LOT to store. And I'm about done with two or three fully themed decorated trees in every room of my house. I'm ready to enjoy seeing other people do it and let me sit back and enjoy trips with children and grandchlidren and live more simple, intentional loving lives. Not that we haven't been doing that too. But sometimes too much "stuff" gets in the way of what is most important.

My Mom and I were talking one day and she really nailed it... she said ya know we spend so much energy accumulating stuff and then we need more stuff/space to hold the stuff and at some point, we spend time and energy unloading that stuff. What if we skipped the accumulation of stuff and just live with different focus. As much as that stuck with me, my house is also full of stuff. Blessings to you in your next adventure.

What you said about special china at the end of this video resonated with me. I recently moved to what I intend to be my final home. I'm 58, so expect to have quite a few years here. Anyway, I had a set of china displayed in a cabinet for years prior to my move. Never used it. Those are now my everyday dishes. Yes, I eat a sandwhich off of Royal Doulton! And the crystal glasses which were previously on display but never used are now being used.

You just make my day Tammy. Today I got together with 5 former coworkers ( we are all ICU nurses, though I retired in 2019 after 44 yrs) and we went out to Riverhead L.I. to go Strawberry picking and had a lovely lunch outdoors in a restaurant. Some of my friends had covid and thankfully recovered, so I hadn't seen them for the past year and a half. It was wonderful! What you said is true about our children, nieces.... not wanting our stuff or even their grandparents "special" things. I do not buy Knick knacks because I have too much of that stuff from my mother and I envision my daughters cursing me when I'm gone. Looking forward to your Florida home tour in the future.

Tammy - funny story. I told my grandkids several years back that they would be eating on "fine china" for dinner. The meal was homemade "pot pie" little did they know, it was actually the. 69 cents Banquet chicken pot pies....on that fine China. I made a decision THAT night, that I would use my China !! My dad passed away several years back. That is when I changed my mind about storing/not using "stuff". I also agree with, start purging now and keep and enjoy and use what you decide to keep.

We moved after 40 years in the same home we raised our children in. You are soooo right! It was the most grueling nightmare on my hubby and I physically. Emotionally it was so heartbreaking for me because I was leaving my best friend and neighbor who was dying of cancer. No words… needless to say, it was gut wrenching. Our daughter and son in law and grandkiddos surprised us and finished the garage. I don’t think we could have done one more thing. We had a moving company who moved the majority but we had moved some things and furniture into a storage unit before we listed it on the advice of our realtor, depersonalizating and making things look roomier. True confession, most of it is still in that unit. We can’t even get ourselves to go in there and finish the move. But.. good news! I read the average time to finish a move is 5 years..I figure we must be right on schedule.. lol

Such valuable advise! An object may mean the world to one family member, and not others. I held onto old family china for years; never used it, just dusted it off now and again. My kids don't know the original owners, and they don't want it...heck! I don't know some of the pieces owners...but it was like a duty to keep it. I donated those beautiful pieces, and believe new owners will find joy in them.

Tammy well said about storing Stuff, we downsized quite a few years ago once our children left home, we lived on acreage and had a very lovely large home with lots of gardens and Lots of Work came with it, I wasn’t quite ready to get rid of the Stuff I had back then, But, last year during the hit of Covid, we decided to renovate our Forever Home completely and that’s when I decided to get rid of all that Stuff that I never used, it was just taking up cupboard space that I could use for other things and not have everything cluttered up, now I have a place for everything, my Mum gave me a dinner set that my Dad had given her for their 25th wedding anniversary (he has since passed) and I had it stored away…WHY, I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️, now I use it and it gives me fond memories, I donated just about everything in our home because I changed the decor to Hamptons style and became a minimalist, if I hadn’t used something in some time, it got donated and now I actually have space in my cupboards, I’m sure I’ll end up filling that space at some time, because my hubby is almost at retirement age, I want to start picking up extra linen and towels so that should see us throughout the rest of our life, these are things we have to start thinking about at our age, I don’t want our children to have to go through all my stuff that they’re not interested in, especially having boys Lol 😂, I still kept things that have special meaning to me and hopefully will have that same meaning to them when I’m gone, Thank You Kindly for sharing some of your life updates, you look beautiful as ever and I totally get the aches and pains all over the body, aches that you didn’t even think would ache Lol 😂 when you said right down to your toes, I’m hearing you friend. All the Very Best on your new journey in Life with your Louie and the Pups 🐶🐶, I have one very special little fur baby myself, who is treated like a child. Blessings from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺💖💖

Gorgeous Tammy! I moved from Virginia to Georgia and packed my house up by myself…32 years of ‘stuff’ to go through! Very stressful and emotional! Got rid of tons of stuff I didn’t use and bought a much smaller house. Love ya Tammy! 🥰🥰🥰

I watched one of your videos a few years ago where you said you cleaned your house every Monday! 5,000 feet of cleaning every Monday is marathon training. As beautiful as your house was, you're free of that! You're inspiring me to grow my hair long. Have a great day and thank you for sharing so much of your life.

Yes no one has any idea how mentally and physically exhausting it can be to go through the things from a loved one you lost. Especially when you've been a caregiver to them and exhausted already.

Hi Tammy, great seeing another video. I did the same thing with my parents Chiba. It sat in my mothers closer forever and then in my attic for years until one day I said the hell with this, no ones ever going to see them. They are now my everyday dishes and I love it ! Have a great weekend, enjoy the yard sale, I also love having them!!

So my husband picked out our china and I am not a big fan but it is sentimental so I shall try to use it more often, he won't even remember it was his selection! My silver is beautiful and tucked away in a silver chest. I have collected many pieces of dishware over the years that is not being used, I pass by it in the basement and know it's time to purge! Enjoy your time in NY, I am off to Wegmans!

You are so right about using the things we love. I used to keep some clothes for special occasions, then it would go out of style or not fit me anymore. I always think of the lady who had bought a very nice dress and was keeping it for a special occasion which never came and her family finally buried her in it.

We have downsized twice. It’s lots of work, and sometimes it made me scratch my head why we had so much stuff! Oh my goodness! It’s a job to deal with it responsibly, I realized we had very busy lives, two full time jobs, a cottage, golfer . No time to get rid of stuff you didn’t need. We have less stuff now, but it’s a challenge to keep it at bay. BTW, love your hair color.

We’re also getting ready to downsize. We live in a 6 bed house here in the UK countryside which we have been lucky enough to call home for 25 years. We have 3 adult children and now 3 grandchildren with more to come so it will be a wrench to leave. I’ve been decluttering for a year but there is a way to go yet! Thank you I’m really enjoying this sort of video

Hi Miss Tammy! I loved your apartment tour video and I watch every single one your videos even though I don't comment that much lately. I had a baby girl last year and been through so much with my ex in court but so far it's all working in my favor and he's out of out lives for now but your videos always put a smile on my face so thank you for that and I love you! I also lost my dog 2 months ago (Angel) and it's been rough, I know you know the feeling with beautiful Bindi and I know they are all happy in heaven. How are the doodles doing after being sick? I love hearing about them! They're so precious and cute. Sorry for the long message. Bisous I love you. Have a blessed day everyone!!

Moving is just so much work. I have that set of China I purchased in 1978. I just loved it. I was not even engaged or even dating my husband and I had this beautiful China. It has followed us everywhere and when we scaled down earlier this year - my daughters said they did not want it and I made my oldest daughter take it for my oldest granddaughter. Do I think she will keep it after I have departed this earth? Absolutely not😂. I totally understand wanting to keep your things but you are correct that most of the items my daughters do not want.
