the best way i learned to drop in was when somebody told me to try to see what was under my front truck while standing in the drop in position and it worked first time and taught me how far i need to lean lean forward enough

After learning pumping and kick turns I learnt rock to fakie, rock and roll, roll in then drop in, in that order and honestly think that's the best way to go when learning miniramp

I love this! these video's help so much while i'm learning, it's a little disconnecting when you go to a skate park and everyone there is already confident doing transition and you're there doing tiny baby steps and it feels really hard, seeing these video's reminds me it's not just me that finds the small things hard until you build confidence, keep it up! Crawl, walk, run, repeat. Just like life...skating is a process that that requires learning one thing well and then building toward the next thing. Dropping in is not easy. You guys were helpful and if she sticks with it she will learn and get better. She is a good girl and I hope she continues to find joy in skateboarding because it is a wonderful creative outlet.

You don't have to go for it all at once... Start by pumping and see how high up the transition you can get, then as you get more comfortable, go higher and higher. Also get comfortable riding switch, so you can just roll back and forth. You'll get to the point where you can drop in after getting used to riding the transition.

On another note, she ABSOLUTELY needs to be wearing a helmet. Just look at Garrett Ginner's girlfriend, she's a much more experienced skater than her and she busted her head open skating a bowl and was in the hospital for weeks. Being confident is great but beginner skaters that aren't comfortable riding and slamming should be wearing protective gear for sure.

People bust there heads open on simple shit all the time, go into comas, have brain damage, die... nyjah houston is one of the best in the world and has busted his head open multiple times. He's lucky he's not a complete vegetable at this point. And this girl is far from an experienced skater, even if your argument made sense. Therefore she needs to wear protective gear. Mike V, legendary skateboarder, realized how stupid it was to not wear helmets after watching friends and kids get seriously hurt trying to look cool not wearing a helmet, he now wears a helmet every time he steps foot on a skateboard. Why because it's dumb not too. Especially if you're doing stuff you're not used to like the girl in this video.

It's awesome that you are encouraging people to learn skateboarding. It can only bring great things for the sport with your growing subscriber base. Videos like this showing this lady having fun and having success learning to skateboard are exactly what many people who look at skateboarding and think "i could never do that" need to see. A long time ago i was one of those kids. I had seen skate videos but i didn't think i would ever in my wildest dreams be able to do that stuff. Until i tried. As an old dog who's been skating for over 20 years i love skateboarding and have been involved in my community actively encouraging kids to skate for a very long time. Maybe i can retire now. Keep up the great work.

As someone whose goal it is at the age of 30 (I've watched all your vids by the way, big fan) to finally learn to skateboard, one of my goals for this year is to be able to drop in on a ramp of any kind. I have yet to actually get a skateboard, but getting the mental practice of watching someone like Chloe being taught really helps me prepare for all of the things I want to do in the near future. I think she's cool! She said the exact same thing i said when i first skated recently. It's really a mental thing and that lack of trust in yourself when you do a thing really punishes you.I started skating recently with my friend who was kind enough to lend me a skateboard and i loved it! Nice going! She's building that confidence! I learned to ski not to long ago and I was all cramped up, stiff and clumsy. Really took me to relax and catch the flow and commit to get it down, it really is a mind of matter kind of thing. Yet, I've never been really athletic, so learning like new stuff is rather challenging at first nontheless. Now thanks to you guys I'm inspired to get down to skateboard! What really helped me to drop in was starting at the bottom of a pipe and learning to pump up and down. I learned how to touch the coping, backside and front side kick turns, and riding switch while pumping. That helped me to learn the board control to propel me into a drop in. Just an idea about progression for other skaters.

Bombsquad SB completely agree, a lot of people quit after their first hard slam. Pads are logical. That being said I notice noone on your channel wears them.

I'd say helmet and maybe wrist guards, knee pads can be a hindrance and can teach bad habits/the wrong way to fall... Learning how to fall properly is just as important as learning to ride

Unless you plan on wearing pads/helmets your entire time skating then I don't see the point in beginners wearing them especially if you have several people by your side to watch you. The 75% that quit after one good slam probably shouldn't have skated in the first place. Anyone going into skating should automatically know it can get pretty brutal.

Kaitlyn Hickman . Did you not see how close she came to seriously hitting the back of her head? You learn with at least a helmet on if you are going to skate ramps on your 3rd try. You learn to fall with the pads ON just like you learn to back flip in a foam pit. No one should be conceited enough to think they cant get hurt badly.
