Servals always look like smiling stuff animals, and have incredible skills in de-escalating situations. Caracals always look like hissing balls of hate and fear. WHY IS THIS?

Servals de-escalating situations?! 🤔😂 Never knew! I always thought of them as being equally “hissy & pissy” as caracals, if not more so. Caracals at least have somewhat of a history in India, being bred by royalty for use as bird-hunters… servals have never been able to get that far I don’t think. Imagine those ancient Indian captive-bred kittens, how they likely became more and more tame over generations… servals retained that wild aggression mostly. And most caracals are, of course, hissy and defensive, but I’ve seen some friendly ones, like on Dolph C. Volker’s channel. No hissing at all.

That‘s why I asked. I normally wouldn’t give salad to a cat either. But I know that cats sometimes chew and eat grass. Mine does that, too. I also know that servals are obligate carnivores as most cats are. However, maybe Chloe in particular needs small amounts of plants as an additive for digestion or for some trace nutrient. I wondered if all servals eat plants in small amounts or if that’s Chloe‘s individual diet.
