Steph V make the same batter and just pour them into cupcake cases. I would reduce the cooking time to maybe 25-30min instead..

The cake's now in my oven and i'm going to prepare the frosting. One thing I must say - nothing on this world smells better than melted butter with cocoa and Guiness. I was standind above the saucepan and smelling it for like 15min. IT SMELLS LIKE HEAVEN. And now that the cake's baking my whole house smells like that. I'm goling to do this cake every single day just for its smell. THANK YOU for the recipe. :)

I've made this cake previously (and it was very popular) and have been asked to do it again for an upcoming party. However, there is a person that is attending that can't have dairy products due to an allergy. I've been able to find dairy-free products for all of the ingredients in this recipe apart from the sour cream. Are you able to recommend anything that I could use instead or change the method so that I can make a version without the dairy-containing sour cream? Thanks

everytime you use eggs you emphasize "free range" part, like it won't work with other eggs. recommending to use free range eggs is one thing, but using it like it is a must for recipe, a little over the line.. nice recipe though :)

Do I have to adjust the temperature and time if I have a fan oven? The original recipe says to put in the oven for 1 hour at 180C. I’ve now put in my batter, but I’m worried it might come out too dry at the settings originally stipulated. 😬😬😬

I found that you can use a Coke cake or substitute coffee instead of beer. It will make the cake different though.

Anything tastes better when you add Guinness into it! If anyone has ever visited the factory in Ireland and eaten at their cafe, you know what I am talking about. Donal, this should be on their menu!
