16:19 Yes, they are in specific spots, both in Sonic 3 and Sonic Mania, in Sonic 3, if you beat Angel Island Zone Act 1 mini-boss when he's in the right corner, if you let the sign fall where he was defeated, you'll always get a bubble shield, and both Angel Island Act 1 in Sonic 3 and Green Hill Act 1 in Sonic Mania have specific things on the background in the boss room to indicate where the items are at (for example: flowers, trees, bushes...), also according to some people, all the levels hide the items in the exact same spots (at least for Sonic 3) And I'm not sure about Superstars, idk if it's just like the others where there's specific items always in specific spots or if they're RNG for items and/or locations

There are 2 chaos emeralds in each act. You can still become super by the end of chemical plant. There are 2 boxes at the end of each level hidden in the ground that will always spawn if the sign lands on a certain spot, not random.

​@@samukabm There are 4 in CPZ Act 1, but 2 of each are in different routes so you can't get them in the same run unless you get the 2 on the bottom, reset the stage (which still keeps your emeralds) and get the 2 on the top (or vice-versa) There are also 3 in GHZ Act 1 but one is exclusive in the Knuckles' starting section, you could get it before as Sonic and Tails by falling into Knuckles section after the spikes in the lower route at the start of the act, but that was patched a long time ago so you can only get 2 as Sonic, Tails, Mighty or Ray

I also wanna add (because he offhandedly talked about it in the vid) that there were 7 star posts total in Sonic 2's Green Hill Zones 1 and 2, so you could get Super Sonic/Tails/Knuckles before going to Chemical Plant Zone in the original game/Sonic 2 & Knuckles.

The item boxes that pop up at the end of Act 1 are always hidden in two specific spots in the ground - if it hits one of the hidden boxes, the sign bounces back up and you can try to find the second one. The Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation releases have an achievement/trophy pop if you're able to get both item boxes in one go.

So fun fact to share about Titanic Monarch 2, on release and I believe up until encore mode was added the time trial version of it was bugged allowing for a secret teleport in the bottom left portal section of the level to count as a goal, this allowed people to get times for the last and probably longest level in the game under 1 minute, I know this fact because for a time (I don't have any proof of this fact without digging deeeeeep into my twitter so your just gonna have to roll with it) I was in a constant back and forth with some random dude to get the fastest time on Xbox for that level that I eventually won, it was somewhere around 35-55 seconds give or take, could have been the world's fastest at the time I never really checked. But yeah as of Encore they changed that so its no longer possible, still a neat fact i thought everyone might wanna know or even remember!

Some silly explanations about the game here: 1. The name of the Heavies are: Heavy King (the big one with a cape and a scepter, he's the leader), Heavy Gunner (the policeman), Heavy Shinobi (the ninja), Heavy Rider (the one who rides a Motobug) and Heavy Magician (the magician who transforms into Fang, Bean and Bark) 2. Heavy Magician and Heavy Rider are both considered females in Sonic Mania's manual, and Heavy Rider's motobug is called "Jimmy" (as a homage to the creator of the hackrom Motobug in Sonic 1 which you can play as a Motobug, the badnik from Green Hill, in Sonic 1, which the creator's name was Jimmy who sadly passed out) 3. In Mania Mode if you play as Knuckles, some things on his playthrough will be different from a regular playthrough as Sonic & Tails, Sonic, Tails, Mighty or Ray, he'll have a different starting cutscene than the rest, he'll start in a different location in Green Hill Act 1, he'll have his own act in Mirage Saloon Act 1, since at the start of Sonic's act you can see Heavy Magician knocking Knuckles out of the Tornado, he'll fall into the canyon area and you'll have to use his abilities such as his glide and climb, and Knuckles will also have his own boss in Lava Reef Act 2 and his own transition cutscene beetween Lava Reef Act 2 and Metallic Madness Act 1 4. Mirage Saloon Act 1 is the only stage in Encore Mode where it is practically 100% original in that mode, since you play as all the characters you don't have anyone to pilot the Tornado like it happens in Mania Mode, so you play in Knuckles section of Mirage Saloon, with the music of his act and all, but it has an almost 100% original level design so you don't have to rely only on Knuckles' abilities, you'll not always have him because of how Encore Mode works, and the mini-boss of that act is also Knuckles' version of Mirage Saloon Act 1's boss, but in a different arena 5. You can play as Mighty and Ray in Mania Mode, but it will be just like any other character's playthrough aside from Knuckles which has his own little things, but at the end is almost the exact same too 6. That metallic sphere in a chain at the ending animation in Mania Mode isn't the Death Egg, but rather Little Planet from Sonic CD, in Sonic Mania's story, Eggman built Titanic Monarch inside of Little Planet and just like he did in CD, he covered Little Planet in a metallic shell and chained it into Sonic's World, that's why in Lava Reef's transition into Metallic Madness the character you're playing as look behind into a giant metallic sphere in the sky, that's Little Planet, and then you go into Metallic Madness since that's the last level in Sonic CD, which takes place in Little Planet, so they go from Angel Island to inside of Little Planet, and the transition from Metallic Madness to Titanic Monarch is your character looking at the giant robot at the background of Metallic Madness 7. The true ending animated cutscene after Egg Reverie in Mania Mode, basically shows Classic Sonic going into Sonic Forces, after Sonic defeats Eggman and the Phantom King (Heavy King's final form), he goes into Sonic Forces thanks to the Phantom Ruby to help Modern Sonic and the others in the war against Eggman and Infinite, and then at the end of Sonic Forces he goes back into his own time and his comeback are the events of Sonic Mania Plus (or Sonic Mania Adventures, I guess), that's why Mania Plus starts with Classic Sonic coming out of a portal created by the Phantom Ruby and he's back at Angel Island, and in Mania Plus the animation starts with Sonic waving because that's the last thing he does in Forces, wave to Modern Tails before being teleported back home 8. Explaining how Encore Mode and the monitors of this mode works: The monitor with the characters icon, as you may have discovered on your own, determines which character you'll add to your "party", it will roullete beetween the ones you don't have and the one you get will be added next to the life icons in the bottom left corner The monitor with 2 arrows, one blue and one orange, will switch the character you're currently playing as, to the next on the list, that means you'll always switch the character you're playing to the character that corresponds to the letter close to your companion's life icon, and it will go in that order, so imagine it is something like this: Sonic life icon (you) Tails life icon (your partner) K (representing Knuckles) M (representing Mighty) R (representing Ray) If you get that monitor, you'll change Sonic into Knuckles, Sonic will go to the end of the list, and Tails will stay right where he's at, so it would be something like: Knuckles life icon (you) Tails life icon (your partner) M (representing Mighty) R (representing Ray) S (representing Sonic) The next monitor you get will replace Knuckles for Mighty, the next will replace Mighty for Ray, and then it'll come in a full circle replacing Ray for Sonic again The question mark monitor will switch both your current characters randomly, so if you're playing as Mighty and Ray, you could switch to Knuckles and Tails for example, or any random combination 9. Mighty never was part of Team Chaotix (at least not in the games), during the events of Knuckles' Chaotix, as explained, Mighty just was in the wrong place in the wrong time, being someone who loves to go out in trips and adventures he went to visit Newtrogic High Zone when Eggman was conquering it, same with Knuckles, Knuckles is not part of Team Chaotix, he was just checking the island since it appeared out of nowhere, but both Mighty and Knuckles teamed up with the Chaotix, and after that adventure Mighty returned to his adventures and Knuckles returned into Angel Island to protect the Master Emerald Mighty just ever became a Chaotix in the Archie comics, where because of Knuckles' Chaotix depicting him and Knuckles teaming up with the Chaotix, Archie just made so they were all officially part of the team in the comics and that was the complete Team Chaotix, later on Ray was also added and considered to be part of the Chaotix since both Mighty and Ray were big friends in there simillar to the games Mighty in the games is just a big friend of everyone, Sonic, Knuckles, the Chaotix, and after Mania, Tails too, but he and Ray are especially best friends, they both were introduced in SEGASonic the Hedgehog for the Arcade, and so they're both considered close friends, that's why excluding in Knuckles' Chaotix itself, where Mighty was shown without Ray's company, both before Chaotix (in SEGASonic) and after Chaotix (with Generations, Mania Plus, Mania Adventures and the IDW Comics) Mighty is always seen hanging out with Ray

Might has always been one of my favorite Sonic characters, but I actually grew fond of him through the archie comics. I was interested in the comics, so I went looking for them, and I stumbled across Sonic Universe Issues 48 & 49. These were the ending to a whole arc the Chaotix had where they were trying to find Mighty and Ray, and turns out Mighty went where he did because he found his little sister. This is one of my favorite Sonic stories, and I found myself relating heavily to Might because I'm an older sibling, too. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves the Chaotix, Mighty, and to people who love stories about family bonds

fun fact Titanic Monarch Act 1 is a really fun level once you know it; I actually have really good online time attack times for Sonic and Knuckles on the level. You wouldn't think a final level would have shortcuts and alt paths, but it does. Also; if you get enough medals from bluer sphere, you unlock in the options menu and & Knuckles mode. Instead of Tails following you; it's Knuckles. And this applies to every character, not just Sonic+Tails. This includes Knuckles. So there is Knuckles & Knuckles mode. Because of the & Knuckles memes.

So, I've discovered that if you find as many big rings as possible, you can become Super before Studiopolis Zone. I think there's 3 big rings in Green Hill, and 4 easy ones in Chemical Plant.
