i want a hard/realism mode that makes the train keep going when you leave and removes all npc markers (excluding already met npcs and things that have been marked by said npcs). it could also remove the feature of respawning scrap and massively increase charles/cultist damage (but slightly reduces knockback)

When you die you respawn at the train, if the train kept moving i garantee people would die at specific times so that they would respawn when the train is in certain areas.

Yeah probably, the train might be working on a proximity trigger or radius. If you can trick the train in key short areas of the game that you are actually still on it... You might shave off a few minutes off. (Not on long areas... Say like the 3rd egg. Since you might find the train ready passed by the ruins to put the eggs in)

When your train is out of health you take damage instead. I'm pretty sure that the player can take 3 or so hits worth of train damage before you die, so theoretically you could save time by waiting to repair by face tanking a few hits. TAS for this game would also be pretty insane since if Charles hits you right you'll go flying forward. If you get him in the right places you could theoretically get Charles boosts (same with guards).

BTW FYI, the cultists in this game aren't actually cultists in literal sense. Warren was trying to help the island, he evacuated people on the island and hide the eggs to ensure their safety. The reason he hid the eggs is as you seen at the end of the game, when you enter the eggs into the prism, it releases a beam of energy which would destroy the egg but Charles can also absorb it to grow stronger. And it's really hard to stop him from absorbing the energy (because go figure, a rocket launcher can only scratch him a bit). So, without knowing how strong Charles can grow with the last eggs, he hid them away from people who tries to die hard with him. All implies in a note near the end of the game. So he's actually a hero in this game as opposed to you who can potentially destroy the world by creating Hell Charles. But after the credits, we can see there are thousands of eegs deep down underground so eh, the moral stand kinda the same

It's... A little more complicated than that, basically Warren went to the island on the first place to gather the eggs and use their power as a source of energy since he is the owner of the minning company that we see all through the game, they found the eggs and decided to use them but that liberated charles who started to wreck shit, it's implied that Warren did a couple of thing to try to stop Charles including causing a cave in to try to bury it and then explain it away as an accident but it obviously failed Ultimately once they discovered that the eggs power up Charles and that the whole situation has completly gone out of hand Warren did decide to hide the eggs and start evacuating the island, so he isnt necesarily a hero but neither a villain, he is a man who bite more then he could chew

Since armour removes overall damage taken and damage makes the fight faster, exponentially, and speed permits you to get away from Charles' attacks, wouldn't it be more efficient to add a little bit extra into each one of them instead of hoarding to repair?
