3inch #3-7 is all you need ! The blindside is pretty impressive with the hitting power .

I like about everything you had to say. If an ammo is not patterning well try a different choke or gun.

2 and 3 for ducks. (Mostly mallards) 2s and 1s for early season honkers and snow geese. BBs for late season / weary geese. Modified or improved modified choke. 3” 1 1/4 loads at 1500-1550 FPS. (Score is 1550fps) That’s all you need in Saskatchewan, ever. 3.5” are for tourists and “dude bros” If I would only be able to shoot one type it’d be 3” #1 1 1/4@1500fps.

That's absolutely ridiculous if you have a decent shotgun you can shoot low bass 2 and 3/4 all day long looks like you have an inertia shotgun on the table there so that might be a problem need to buy gas

What is the difference between 2 3/4 and 3”? You said the 3” was running at 1400, my 2 3/4 is also running at 1400. I’m slightly new to duck hunting and am trying to figure it all out. I’ve only hunted deer my whole life and have just gotten the chance to begin duck hunting

Usually the 3" will have a heavier load which means more shot. I shoot 2 3/4" 2s & 3s for snows in the spring and 3" 2s for canadas. 2 3/4 6s for ducks

every pellets that didnt hit the target falloff lmao. It wont hurt no one it doesnt have enough velocity for anything. The only way you'll notice theres pellets falling on you is because its gonna sound like rain hitting the gound 😆

3 1/2 are a great load for late season sea ducks! Winchester Super X is all i use, never had a problem and a great price point as well!

Here in upstate NY I personally shoot federal blue box 2-3/4" 1oz bb for big ducks late season and geese all season if I think they aren't going to decoy well I'll use a 3" 1-1/4oz bb but for early season and all puddle ducks (Woodies teal and mallards) I use my antique sxs with Kent velocity #7 steel and Kent upland steel #6. I know I know why would you use small shot I personally believe in pattern density and quality rather than extreme terminal damage. I only crippled one duck last season using the #6s and unfortunately lost that bird as well but I absolutely crushed the mallards even out to 60 yards with my antique sxs. I think It goes to say even beyond shell quality and size you need to know the pattern performance of that load in your particular gun and you also need to be confident shooting that load. Confidence and a 2-3/4 have killed more birds than 3.5" spraying and praying. Love your videos though man keep em up let's get ready seasons coming

adirondack rebel Appreciate it 👊👍.. I guess I can take back what I said about 2 3/4 being obsolete haha I just had heard of anyone shooting them unless they load there own shells. Thanks for the info, only thing I say is it seems that going with 3 inch bb would be slightly better than 2 3/4 at all times? is the thought on that just to save money or what?

I'm reloading my own now. Good question: What shot size do you prefer 4 or 2 in 1 1/8 oz of steel shot?
@DuckGunChronicles

2 for geese and 4 for ducks. If you can only do 1 and you hunt both then I’d do the 2’s

@DuckGunChronicles I live in az, and so far, for next season, I'll be hunting ducks and coots and lest a trade Canadian goose pop out. After the season, I'll be moved to Tennessee, where there is a geese season, woody/teal season/ teal season, regular season/ late geese season.

In years past, I always went heavy on my loads. 4s for teal and 2s in November and later in 3 inch with 3.5 inch BB for geese. I'll stick with the same load for geese but am downsizing shot size this year to 3 inch 6 for teal and maybe do 3 inch 3s late season.

I will never shoot another Winchester super x shell, they are pure garbage, cut one open a 4 shot shell and you will have shot from 9 to even bb, not to mention they are all deformed. I shoot heavy steel and to me quality outweighs price and quantity. I rarely have a cripple and they pattern extremely well.
@scottbeets4318

I totally agree.. Winchester super x is garbage.. Spend a couple dollars a box more and get heavy steel or federal speed shock

I use 3in 2 shot whenever I can for both ducks and geese unless I'm specifically targeting geese then its 3in BB I hate shooting 3 1/2in I usually do fine shooting ducks with 2 3/4inch 3 shot shells. Federal blue box is my favorite.

Hey Jordan you should try 2.75 in shells for waterfowl you will have a faster recovery time and your shoulder won’t get beat up as much.

Fowl Chasers I honestly don’t feel much recoil from 3 inch shells.. I will however be using some 2.75 Boss shells this coming season 👊
@xaviercastelazo9486

But for a beginner that maybe is a bit recoil sensitive, would the 2.75 be the best option in a semi-auto 12 gauge?
