Maybe if the randomizer can control how many shinies appear (ie 1 shiny 2 normal) it'll make it easier to pick, though a lot of lime green and gold shinies exist over normal colored pokemon, so that might make it easier to know which mons are which...

20:25 burning an opponent would actually work to offset body press damage, as of gen 8 burn mechanics were changed to half the base power of physical moves themselves instead of halving the attack of the Pokémon. They changed it to be that way specifically to make it affect body press

If you ever do this type of video again, I'd love to see it with the official Pokedex colors (you can see them on Bulbapedia) It both removes the subjectivity of which is the majority and adds a lot of challenge due to the fact that the Pokedex colors are infamously very wrong

Wilowisp DOES weaken body press. Press uses the defense to attack, but wisp halves the power of physical moves-not the attack stat. Same reason it makes foul play weaker

I will admit as someone who has taken color theory multiple times and who has gone to art school for almost 6 years now, the way they assign these colors drive me absolutely batty. Masquerade is white and you probably would be able to argue for a light gray it is not blue.

@@reddragon9064 I honestly think for them they're looking at bad sprites. Because it's very possible they're looking at the worst version of the Sprite of the Pokemon and that's right usually uses the wrong shade/tone of the color. I would just love to know what's right there looking at that they think masquerade is blue. Because it's white but in certain segments of the anime and two sprites I can take off the top of my head it does look like light gray. I'm sure it's just me because I went to art school and we had several professors who were very much if you don't get the tone and shade correctly you failed the project. I kid you not a teacher tried to fail my painting because it wasn't the exact shade of blue they liked, it was kind of ridiculous. So for me it's more of a trigger response than anything

Another idea here. For the second battle, switch your Mons to their shiny form and they have to take an ability of another shiny matching color. So when picking your Mons at the beginning, you could use your knowledge to try and build a team for your second battle as well

The correct color of toedscool is peach pink. Bronzong color is not really defined in English language. Teal is much darker. The primary reason why they get the colors wrong is because the English language is not sufficient to name all the colors. Great example, the word for the color orange became only in common use in the 17th century. Before that it was called just red. Now many colors share a similar fate

Will-o-wisp does work on body press. It halves the base power of physical moves not the attack stat. So body press would basically become a 40 base power move. Video idea: You could change the format so that if you choose the Pokémon the other lied about, you’d choose the ability from the Pokémon of the color that was said! This would make it so that the one lying also has to think about whether a certain color would give good abilities to the Pokémon in case it’s chosen Vice versa, the one choosing also needs to factor in which colours have generally good abilities and that they might be a lie

I love watching Shady and Luke fight each other. Just something about how both of their minds work during battle, their skill level, all topped off with their banter, funniness, reactions, and wit. Idea what if you put all three starters on a slot machine wheel with 3 slots spin it, if you land on two of the same Pokémon from the slot machine you get that Pokémon if you spin all three same Pokémon you pick the any ability or move. If you only match one Pokémon you take reduced IV’s spin until you match two or more.

I'd love to see this concept again but with the official colors! Like, Golurk is counted as green, the pink version of Gastrodon (east sea) is purple, Jelliscent and Frillish are white? There's quite a few pokemon that don't make any sense why they're classified as the color they are, so that could add to the fun!

I really love the idea of preparing one team for single and double battles. The genius of this format goes totally understated in the video. I would like it a lot if you both talked about your prep more (similar to how Dylan has been in his recent videos) since the strategy for prepping a mon for both formats is really interesting. Also some ideas extending off of your single + double battle format. I will definitely never do any of these myself so feel free to take any of these, change them and run with it. 1. You could do a ORAS then we fight where you use one team for a single, double, and triple battle. 2. You could do a more tournament style best of 3 where the loser of the first battle gets to counter pick which format you fight in for round 2. E.g. I lose the first round so I counter pick double battles. I then win the 2nd round and you counter pick Inverse Type battle. 3. You could do a Cross Generational then we fight. For example, you could start by picking starters and battling in ORAS. Then you take that same team into Sword and Shield. For the mons on your ORAS team that aren't in the Sword and Shield dex, you pick a new random starter. For the mons on your ORAS team that are in the Sword and Shield dex, you either can replace them with a new random starter or reroll their ability. And then repeat in Scarlet and Violet. I like this one a lot cause your team has to be prepared for the different generational gimmicks, and has rogue like elements (e.g. you could try to replace a pokemon on your team, but risk getting 3 trash random starters and get stuck with one of them or hitting the jack pot. Balancing the risk and reward is always fun). Obviously, you could do this when any combination of generations, not just the ones in my example. You could even have the loser of each fight select the next generation to fight in. Those are all my ideas! Excited to see more penguin content 🐧 thanks for making such great videos - they always are a highlight of my day
