Almost two years later (as of yesterday) I’ve successfully completed the Humber College Real Estate Salesperson program! I now have my transcript in hand, and ready to meet with brokerages. Good morning, Callum. Been thinking about getting my Real Estate license for a while. I own a web design business in Ontario 360 Web Firm, and I use to be a contractor and insurance advisor. Kinda a jack of all trades. One thing I am good at is Customer service and sales. I watched several of your videos and I am very impressed at how you teach the content, and your explanations are very easy to understand. When you say, "Your Own Business", does that mean when you get your license and look for a broker, you are working for yourself but using their name, kind of like a franchise? I know with insurance; you get your license and work completely for that brokerage or company. How hard is it to get a brokerage willing to take someone on with no experience and fresh to the real estate industry?

Hey great stuff Steven, glad they help and it sounds like you have a perfect background for getting your real estate licence. Yes so the brokerage will hire you as in independent contractor or once you set up your PREC (personal real estate corporation) a corporation. This is your own business however real estate in Ontario is highly regulated. So you will have to join a brokerage or with extended education become a Broker and open your own. The brokerage you join is usually an extension of your marketing and they can really help you, but when I say you are growing your own business it's because ultimately it will come down to you of how successful you will be. It won't be hard at all. In this industry the shoe is to a certain extend on the other foot. If you show that you are ready to grow in the industry most brokerages will have you. You are the one almost interviewing them. Reach out anytime if you decide to go for it Steven, no problem!

Question, since EXP is one brokerage does multiple representation occur in every trade with another agent in EXP?

The requirement for multiple representation is that 2 or more CLIENTS of 1 brokerage are represented in the same transaction. So if one is a customer of the brokerage and another person is a client, this is NOT multiple representation. If both are clients, then yes, it IS multiple representation.

@@youtubeboi855 I know this. That isn’t what I’m asking. From what I’ve gathered EXP is one brokerage (I can be wrong). Remax for example is divided into brokerages for example remax gold, remax silver etc. So a transaction between clients from remax gold and remax silver will not be considered multiple representation

Hi Callum! I just wanted to say that your videos have helped me so much and I'm very grateful for them!! Your insight and knowledge has helped me immensely. I have actually just completed the real estate program at Humber and I need some direction... I can't exactly afford to get registered right now since I quit my job a few months ago to be able to focus and finish the program. I want to be an assistant to a realtor so that I can make some money to then get registered but is that my only option? I would love to join a team as well but I don't know if they will want me to be registered and I can't exactly do that right now... or do I get a side job so I can save up to register and work at a brokerage? Any advice from you would be greatly appreciated :) I am definitely eyeing eXp as a brokerage I'd like to join...Thank you again for your videos!

Hey Olivia glad the videos help! I suppose if I was you I would get a job so I could get registered as fast as possible. But you can also reach out to any and all brokerages around you to ask if there are any positions as an admin, or assistant. You could even DM possible local Realtors as well telling them your situation. You are very close to becoming a Realtor, just keep at it!
