I remember my grandpa he always kept my alcoholic mother away when she was drunk and would yell at any drinkers that came to our house but in June he passed on to a greater world above I remember crying when they close his casket know that’s the last time I’ll ever see his face again.

Used to work at matthews, never look at a casket the same after starting there. Proud of what I did, my father was in a york. My mother will be in a york.
The weight from the soil can crush coffins lime a tin can. Concrete 'vaults' (If you really get one & are not cheated, sometimes this happens) fail eventually too. You can have a green funeral where they put you in a wicker basket. The basket is bio degradable where as a super expensive metal- wood whatever coffin doesn't. Your loved ones, family, friends could dig your grave or for a little more the company will do it & put you in a park setting type place.

GhostCity Shelton the cemeteries in California usually have the concrete vaults already buried in the ground before the cemetery is landscaped this is especially true with cemeteries that stack graves one on top of the other. The bodies are interred with the first person who is deceased buried on the bottom.

None of this crap matters. You're still going to rot and all the bells and whistles are not going to change that fact. In fact you buy all this sealing airtight stuff you're going to rot in your own juices because it slows down the process and makes it even uglier. The only one in the end left smiling is the guy who sold it with a big ass markup.

Expensive casket? Burial vault? It doesn't matter. The body WILL eventually decompose. It's inevitable. The body is "just a shell" that moves us around. The head of anatomy at a university medical school gives a short lecture to first year medical students before they start anatomical dissection. His words sum it up perfectly. He says, "think as the body, the GIFT, you are receiving, as a house where the owner has moved out." Good analogy. The REAL person is whatever you want to call it...energy, spirit, soul, etc.

Money is not important, if you have it to spend. What is important is what the living will remember. Now, the idea of protecting the loved one from the elements....rain, frost, he at, etc. This determines the type of casket one will purchase.. ..cooper and bronze being the best protection.
@fitzgeraldhanover38425 жыл бұрын
Frankly, I think money should be spent on the cemetary location, especially if you want to visit on holidays.
@fitzgeraldhanover38425 жыл бұрын
Copper a bronze caskets are nice inside vault. The vault will provide extra protection from elements, such as humidity. Some parts of the U.S.A. are prone to flooding. Vaults may be required by the cemeteries.

Back in the old old days they buried you same day or next . In a wooden box no fancy features no frills .just box and lid . Why not still do that ? Your not in there anyway .your soul is either in heaven or the other place :-(
@BillDerBerg6 жыл бұрын
Environmental regulation plus the whole criminal investigations thing requires a dead body to be examined and its cause of death noted and concluded to be of a natural cause or homicide or suicide... that can take days or weeks...

Connie Pine. You're eighter in heaven or hell or stuck here on earth.
@BillDerBerg6 жыл бұрын
GhostCity Shelton you obviously don't read a Christian Bible. No man has ascended into Heaven. The dead know nothing. Let the dead bury the dead. These prove that once you die you're dead and until the day of judgement where the Bible says the dead will rise from their graves you will still be dead.

Having seen a vlog on you tube on the making of a casket all caskets are made of th same wood pine , they are then varnished and polished to look like more expensive woods so whoever made this video are lying through their teeth. they just want to con everyone when somebody wants a casket for a loved one. the only people to get high end caskets are the funeral homes for their employees.

Metal Caskets are a hazard (except If they are used in a crypt). In Germany, we are not allowed to offer our clients metal casket for this reason. Caskets should decay alongside the occupant. Anything else is modern littering.

And they’re as pricey as a car lol
@rebeccaann53645 жыл бұрын
Dally B Yes they are. In the casket room I saw one for $8000 at my local funeral home in my town. That was the most expensive one in the room . And It didn't look that pretty either .
@dallyc83665 жыл бұрын
rebecca chavez my nana went over the expenses to die. First you have to buy a spot in the wall or the ground, my nana bought 2. One for her and one for a family member for just incase. That ran her about 7,000. Then whatever casket she picks out. Then 1,000 to open the casket, then another 1,000 to close it. Then you have to pay to move it to wherever you’ll be placed. She also said you have to pay to open the wall vault and pay to close it. Basically..it’s incredibly expensive to die 🤧🤨
@rebeccaann53645 жыл бұрын
Dally B yes it's rediculous how much funerals cost. We had our plots purchased years ago but yes u have to pay for them to be opened. I do agree it's like the price of a car after everything is said and done. Sometimes I feel like ur grieving and they know that and talk u into spending alot of money.
@dallyc83665 жыл бұрын
rebecca chavez I just want to be cremated. Tbh I think cemeteries are nice but they also take up a lot of space. Eventually in so many years a lot of graves will be unvisited.
