Should you mix different wall colors for rooms, or should all rooms have a single color? I literally don't know a house that wasn't a clown-house: my dad was color-blind and my best friend's dad was also color-blind. Actually color-blind, not "like" color-blind. My room was Orangsicle with Key Lime trim, our bathroom was Hot Pink, and our dining room was Mint.

Hi Zahira How would you proceed in an old building if half of the walls are (horizontally) panelled, the door frames and doors are also somewhat ornate and the ceilings are partially stuccoed? I have an open floor plan that includes the kitchen and the family room in one big room. The kitchen island dividing the room.. My kitchen cabinets are white, The counter is a granite gray corion. The island cabinets are muted green. The family room has a dark wood dining set near the sliding door the opposite wall has a leather pale gray sofa. The north wall has TV screen. I'm trying to figure out what color in the green pallet would work best with the kitchen and the coloring of my furniture. I was thinking of using a lighter shade on the west & east walls and a darker shade on the north TV wall for contrast or keep all three walls the same color? Any suggestions? My concern is the dark furniture.
