Great video! I use a Tom Bihn Clear 3D Cube organizer for my liquids + an Eagle Creek Pack-It Quick Trip XS for solids, pretty simple stuff but works for me, plus the Eagle Creek is super light and bought it in orange, which I love. Always enjoy seeing how others pack their toiletries.

I traveled through Europe for two weeks last year with only the Gravel TSA pouch and was pleasantly surprised at how much it can carry! I carried a bar of Dr Bronners soap inside a matador pouch, a gravel bottle with shampoo, my razor, nuud deodorant, face wash, toothpaste carry thing from Matador and a toothbrush. With some leftover free space. I think this is a great set up as it’s only one pouch for toiletries that you can either hang or lie on a surface.

Thanks for sharing your experience. The tsa pouch definitely is amazing. I will use it a lot in the future as well

@@YouknowtheboI second that! I'm now in a trip, my third one in the last month or so that I'm using the Gravel TSA pouch. It's perfect for carry-ons! I also have the previous version, which came bundled with my Gravel Explorer, but the new one is much better! The Gravel Explorer is my toiletry bag of choice when I have a checked bag; I also use a Traveller Packer, by Side by Side, when I go to longer trips and I need a bigger toiletry bag. Lately I prefer to take solid shampoo bars when travelling, but the Gravel bottles are almost perfect and always my bottles of choice when I need them

Great comparison, Bo! I'm still using the Wash Pouch from Peak Design and really like it because it's self-standing AND has a hanging hook. It's obviously bigger but that also means you can fit more additionally stuff in like sun sunscreen etc. Also think that the Aer Travel Kit 2 might be a good option as it looks like it fits a similar amount of items while having a more compact foot print than the PD but it lacks the origami style.

Thanks for watching. I used the peak design in the past. But it was just too big for me after a while

I use an Evergoods CAP 0.5L as my toiletry bag - Philips One toothbrush, toothpaste tablets, Lush round shampoo bar that I use as body wash, cause it's small and smells nice, crystal deodorant, Bic disposable razor, Victorinox nail clippers, a set of foam earplugs. As minimal as it gets and no liquids, nothing to take out during security check. Used to carry a Gotoob with shower gel and a Matador small refillable toothpaste tube, and those also fit in the CAP 0.5, but switched to only solids, cause they are smaller, lighter and no need to show them at security. PS: My tech pouch is just as minimal, also fits in another CAP 0.5. I was ecstatic when that came out - it made the perfect pouch for all my minimal travel needs. PPS: you said you wanted to simulate one bag travel. Packing most of your toiletries in your check-in is not simulating one bagging it...
@YouknowtheboАй бұрын
Thanks for the comments. Thats amazing, that you fit everything into the cap0.5 it's a great pouch, but too small for what I pack. And in regards to your pps: I packed the Gravel tsa friendly dopkit in my carry on. So the carry on was basically packed as if I did not have a check in bag. The dopkit inside the check in had additional items like sunscreen but also some more wash items. I was in a Muay Thai camp and anticipated to shower more often so I packed two Gravel bottles with shampoo for example. But the tsa dopkit was packed inside the carryon as if I was traveling without the check in bag

There's so many great products you've reviewed! Have you thought about a "2024 bag awards", or something similar for items you've reviewed before black friday? New to the channel and have been binge watching your videos ❤

Thank you very much for watching my videos. I will probably do a "best of 2024" at the end of the year. But for black week I will probably only do a community post with some links on Monday. I unfortunately don't have time to do a video this week plus I am sick unfortunately

On my recent trip to Indonesia for 4 days, i used the Gravel TSA bag and the Gravel Explorer Slim as my dopp kit. I agree with Bo on the Gravel Slim that it dictates you in terms of how you want to pack but it doesnt take up a lot of space in my travel bag. I may explore other dopp kits as there are so many options out there.

I’ve tried so many dopp kits but I always find myself returning back to the Gravel Slim.

I use cap.5 + comfyable + side by side clear toiletry bag 😂 i like using smaller pouches to pack easier and also to spread them in the hotel room 😅
@YouknowtheboАй бұрын
That is a good idea. Thanks for watching

Can't speak for Gravel Slim, but despite Aer having good materials it's way less practical than the dopp kit I currently use : Travelon hanging toiletry kit
@bixby451Ай бұрын
I’ve always felt like Aer products are over engineered, they use too much material, their stuff always end up being too bulky and heavy.
@e3vL1Ай бұрын
@bixby451 true. I tried most of their backpacks; they have great compartmentalization/pockets , but issue is most of the time one pocket would take up space of another making you pick and choose your layout instead of fully utilizing the bag. Only product I enjoyed and kept from them is the Aer Go Pack 2
@YouknowtheboАй бұрын
The bags from Aer having too much compartments and being over engineered so that they get bulky, I can understand. That is a valid point. But that being said, now having used the dop kit in Thailand, I did not find it bulky. It fitted a lot of items without taking up too much space

What's inside those other gravel bottles?
@YouknowtheboАй бұрын
I basically doubled up. Because I went to a Muay Thai camp I anticipated that I would be showering twice per day. And the camp isn't a hotel, so I brought double shower gel and shampoo inside four Gravel bottles.
