Interesting that you've been exposed to research (and even potential spin-off stuff!). Yeah, I can imagine it's not for everyone. I also spend long days in the lab sometimes, but it really goes in waves, and it's so dependent on which lab you end up in as the techniques and core research can vary a lot of course. And yeah, I guess this is the general paradox for every starter out of school, not just biomed engineering though, that they ask for some experience... but how can you if you're just out of school right? So I advise my viewers to take in as much lab experience and placements as they can to highlights this (perhaps already on a LinkedIN profile for example)... Thanks for sharing your experiences!

1. Is it true that BME is not well payed comparing to other engineering fields 2. Are you more a mechanical BME or an electrical BME 3. Is the "design" and "production" field of BME accessible to all BME students? Or is it only the nerds that can get into the design field 4. Thank you for your videos !!!!!
@theadventuresofrah
@theadventuresofrah 4 жыл бұрын
1. I'm not quite sure. I know other engineering fields can definitely make more but I won't think it the worse. For reference my salary (as well as my colleagues who graduated with me in BME) was around $65K for an entry level position with no experience. 2. Neither and both lol just a general BME with a bit of experience in both 3. yes I would say so. . .of course you grades, type of courses, and your internship experiences play a big part. But if its a goal or career aspiration then you can definitely work to optimize your resume to make it happen. 4. Thank you for watching!

Depends on your college program, but at my university there was a balance of both since it is an engineering degree. I took every math from college algebra to calculus 3 and differential equations. Some linear algebra. And I started my freshman year with biology, then chemistry 1 & 2, organic chemistry, anatomy and physiology, genetics, immunology, etc. Most of my sciences were electives that I got to choose but the basic sciences like O.chem and bio are required and unique to BME majors.

I’m a senior biomedical engineering major with one more year left and I still have a few questions for you regarding how you were able to narrow your job field down to the cardiac division. How long were you in undergrad and do you have any suggestions for those who are close to graduating? Did you only apply to one post graduate job? How much were you paid as an entry level engineer and did you have any internships while in undergrad? What do they check for in the interviews like the specific questions if you roughly remember any? Also, Do you have an email address that we can reach you at? I know these are a lot of questions but I’d love the answers for each of them. Thank you for being a BME and good luck!

Hey girl ! I just came across your video and channel. Your videos seem very helpful; I’m gonna binge watch them lol! I’m gonna be a senior next semester and I’m pursuing Biomedical engineering as well. I wanted to ask you some specific questions about your job. Do you have Instagram or is it okay if I could get your email or add you on linked in ?

Im currently doing electrical and computer systems engineering and will be graduating soon. I had a few projects on electrical medical devices and programming on medical scans and i found it to be where my interest is. So Im thinking of pursuing bme career. In your opinion, would you say medical or biological background is a major advantage?

How do you get a job like this in the medical field? This is exactly what I am hoping to do with my BME degree but i feel like it is very difficult to not be working in an office setting as an engineer.

Hello! I would really like to get a bachelors degree in Germany and work as a biomedical engineer in the future. Doing my research, I’ve found out that there are almost no biomedical engineering undergraduate degree programs in Germany so I’ve resorted to make studying something else and then getting a Masters in BME my second option. What do you recommend someone study as a bachelors in a situation like mine?

I don't know if I should follow biomedical engineering or biomedical sciences, which one will have the most impact on human health and longevity? biomedical enginering is going to be more promising and more entrepreneurial opportunities in the future, right? biomedical engineering is the most suitable for medical nanorobos (that will help us, being within our bloodstream) and machine-person interface/ upload the mind to a computer? which one will have the most impact on cryonics, to conserve humans to resurrect later? in short: will human health and longevity be closer to science or technology?
