Yes, Sarah- ch-ching- keep that Money machine going- there are some great colorists on KZbin who share their skills, knowledge,work and downloads freely- you’re just out to make a buck-literally! A dollar for one coloring page download of roses so the viewer can color with you? I’m certain you digitized a photo to get that image. A color book that can be purchased that is so short it can be read in under five minutes?

@@casper116X I see you’re back again with you opinions that all artists should work for free. Selling a few products is what allows me to spend the rest of my time producing free content to help people. 90% of my time (AND my husband’s time) is spent producing content for free. I’m not sure how you expect artists to do all this for free with no other source of income? Regarding the roses, I have a video tutorial that teaches how to draw that exact rose, if you are genuinely interested. If you think an app can auto trace a photo to create linework like that, you do not understand much about art. I apologize for being blunt, but your comments haven’t really offered much grace my way to begin with. I hope this comment clears up some confusion, but I’m not going to keep justifying my income to you if you keep bringing this up. I hope you are more kind with your words to other creators on KZbin.

When I worked as a web designer, I wouldn’t have started a project without first choosing a colour palette. When I moved house a couple of years ago, I chose a colour palette for every room each including a metallic accent colour. Funny then that I hadn’t considered doing so for my colouring book until recently. I’ve now been using the bottom of the colouring page to swatch the colours and note which pencil it is. I also quite like mixing the colours together and then using a white or pink to burnish them. Thanks for another great video! 😉

Each set has some unique colours that you won’t find in any other pencil set. The scorpion set has a burgundy and a charcoal green that are astounding. I tell my students to get the original Black Widow set and the Monarch to start. That gets them the basics and the beautiful pastels.

I don't necessarily have " Go To " Colors cuz I color a range of different images therefore I use a range of different colors but that's where a lot of my time is spent trying to find a pallet to help me match specific colors that I've chosen based on the image . Not only can it be time-consuming It can be very frustrating at times so I would love to have the catalog and the companion but it is not in my budget . Perhaps sometime in the future .I do love your videos and your FB Group .💕

Don't bother scrolling through Pinterest, it's a rabbit hole & a time suck. If money is an issue, Design Seeds has 500+ free online palettes & they're all organized by color, theme, collection, etc. so that might be alot easier for you. Coolors.co also offers free palettes, but the interesting thing is that when you click on a color from a selected palette, it'll give you the hex code as well as the Copic and Prismacolor shade. That saves time & hassle swatching out to find the right pencil to use. Hope that helps :)

Atresia color pencil set which I never used. 😊And, 0hunu Honolulu 100 set I enjoy them but kinda fine it difficult to use because of the way they have number there colors it’s kinda hard to find. However, I have herd they redid these and the newer markers are much easier to read now. Trying not to buy everything that comes out because it does get expensive. But I do find it frustrating to pick out colors when you see so many talented people coloring pages. I am interested in a coloring companion since it’s already printed with a lot of colors and combination’s. But I can’t really but the bundle because I have the catalog already. If you could please help me out I would appreciate it. Thank you, marina

Trying to colour match might be easier still if the Swatch was to be printed as a thick rectangular frame (with one edge thicker to give a good colour block). One could use different corners or edges with different pencils when experimenting then.

I love both the color catalogs! They are incredibly helpful when I get color "blocked." I also love using them as a comparison to my Copic markers when it comes to colored pencils, as they are newer to me. They help me understand a little better the different color ranges. Speaking of the color palette and the color wheel, I have a question. I struggle to determine Blue-Violets (which seem to be missing in colored pencils a bit) and some Yellow Greens in colored pencils. As with Copic Markers, they organized that for me. Do you have any tips, especially for someone who is very OCD? I am constantly second-guessing if I have the right color family. Thank you so much for this video and such wonderful inspiration!
@SarahRenaeClark3 жыл бұрын
I second-guess my grouping a lot too- because honestly, there is no “line” where one group stops and another starts. It’s a continuous transition between groups, so it comes down to your own discretion. I often resort my pencils, but at a certain point, you just have to make a decision and try to be ok with what you have decided. I know that’s a really hard thing if you’ve got OCD!

@@SarahRenaeClark It is so helpful to know that I am not alone in this. And yes they do all blend and color can be so interpretive.
