Thor! This was another great video on your part. I am mightily impressed - yet again, of your content creating skills. It is well done, excellent quality as always in the shots as well its contents. Nice to see the band too. And on a personal note ... the live sound was better on stage than in the zoom recording (and I love the zoom H4n). Am looking forwards to the next live event. Cheers.

What a Great video Thor! It's so good watching your tone journey because it mirrors most of our search too. Love your enthusiasm that comes across because it's genuine joy and it's addictive. The band sounded great and your guitar came across really well and toneful. I have always taken "my best game to a gig" because you are on show so why not make it the best You that you can?! Just keep doing what you do because it's real without any pretence. 😊😊

Thanks Brian. I was quite surprised to notice that the Sweet Cream had a less pleasant character than the Sweet Honey Overdrive Deluxe. I have used the Sweet Cream in our rehearsal room and plugged it into a Laney amp that lives there. Always a good tone. But when I was dialling in the gear for this gig I became aware of the difference. It was quite noticeable. I wanted to bring a lightweight rig so I could be quick on and off stage. But you are right, it's no point in letting the best gear sit at home when going to a gig. Maybe unless it is a very expensive guitar and the gig is a drunken chaos, or a naval battle as we would describe it over here 😄 All the best!

Hi Thor! Thanks for the shout out 🍻. And may I say your guitar sounded particularly awesome on this gig. Really full and quite like Robben Ford with his Dumble. And whilst I have the silver face (‘68 reissue), I’m led to believe that the black face (‘64 reissue) is better built than mine. So that would be the one to get. Cheers Thor, looks like you had a great gig!

Thanks Paul, luckily a Twin Reverb is usually available as a backline offer around here, so I know what to choose from here on, and I won't have to carry it myself from gig to gig 😄 Cheers!

Beautiful tone & Playing.. love it! Perhaps try one of the Fender tone master twins, much lighter, it was a great performance

Thanks, really appreciate you kind words. I have to admit I'm a bit skeptical to those tone master amps, even if I haven't tried one myself yet. But you're right, if it sounds as good it's something to consider. Cheers.

Nice very well done! Great tone you had, guitar sounded fantastic through the Twin. And I agree about Blackface/Silverface amps.

Thank you. I was very pleased to hear the tones from the Twin when I plugged into it. It was great tone from the start. Such a pity they're so big and heavy. It's no option for me to own one to drag around. But then again most venues will have one available as backline. Cheers!

Please allow me a question: Have you ever considered using a solid-state amp? Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts and experiences, they're great. Cheers.
@GUITARSGIZMOS6 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, I am impressed with some solid state amps. Especially more modern ones like what I have heard from the Boss Katana. Even my Fishman Loudbox mini sounds good also with an electric guitar plugged into it. But I have a long way to go before I see myself replacing a tube amp with a solid state. That's mostly vanity and believes around the magic harmonics coming from a good tube amp. Cheers 😊

I have the Joyo version of the Sweet Cream the "Sweet Baby" and I love it. Its super ugly though lol
@GUITARSGIZMOS6 ай бұрын
Hi, I actually own a Joyo Sweet baby, so I think I should do a video playing my Sweet Honey Overdrive clones and compare them to the real one. I agree about the looks though 😄Cheers!

Don't you find that setting tone in a small room, might provide disappointment in a larger venue, particularly when the amp is on a stand?
@GUITARSGIZMOS6 ай бұрын
Hi, you are touching on something that is a big subject to discuss. Knowing that all venues will offer different acoustic qualities it is impossible to set the tone at home and expect it to be like that when you get to the gig. However, I think selecting the best gear available for the purpose is really the only choice. Or did I misunderstand your question? I'm not sure what you think of regarding "the amp on a stand"? I have sometimes had good experience with adding an EQ pedal to my board (when there is room for it). That will allow for getting rid of unwanted frequencies at a venue with challenging acoustics. Cheers!
