11/22/63 was a fast read despite the size of it! I really liked it on audio!

I highly recommend Black Sun and The Hike aaaaaand Starter Villain! Please look them up! I’m definitely going to start the Earthseed series after I finish Ordinary Monsters for this month.

A cult fiction I really liked was The Night Burns Bright by Ross Barkan! It’s from the perspective of a 12 year old boy who has grown up in a cult. A nonfiction cult book I’d recommend is Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism by Amanda Montell

That’s a massive TBR! 11/22/63 is a put that I originally put on my TBR for 2024 to fulfill the same BYL Reading Challenge prompt that you’re using it for, but then I chickened out due to a Goodreads review from a horror wimp like me. And while most people say it isn’t horror she made me believe that it is for folks like me and her. I’m super curious to hear your thoughts on it and when you do your review will you please let us know if there are scary/yucky bits?

Definitely! I can tell you that based on the tv series, it's likely more disturbing than scary. I expect that it's probably similar in tone to The Green Mile.
