Superior's titanium plated Topstitch needles made by Organ cost not much extra but last for several projects, such a saving. The eye is longer so will stitch most things. My vintage Singer treadle won't quilt without a Topstitch.

Hi Laura. That's a helpful video. Thank you. I noticed that you didn't mention needles that are labelled Quilting or Sharps. Do you not use these in quilting projects?

Great reminder! I have a question about the wool thread - I have a pair of jeans that I need to shorten & the manufacturer used a pretty thick white thread to top stitch & hem with. Could it be this thick wool thread? I've been putting off hemming them because I want to keep the original look, but don't want to use the cheater techniques I've tried before. Thank you - Tami

+Tam2 Yes, keep in mind that there may be shrinkage and I wouldn't use anything heavier than a 12 weight. Remember, the smaller the # the heavier the thread.

What type and size needle would you use when sewing fleece?
@NationalQuiltersCircle5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I would use a medium-weight Universal or Microtex needle when sewing fleece. Fleece is fairly easy to sew with, however it does tend to dull your needle quicker than other fabrics, so you may just need to change it more often. Cheers, Ashley
