Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is the best dog. My dog is a male named Paddy and he is a Blenheim. He loves everyone in the family and consider our cat Cassy as a sister. They even play together. Cavies are adorable.

I can also recommend Havaneser! They are as big as the bichon frisé and so adorable! They love everyone and are the nerds at the dogschool. They love to learn tricks and to be around their owners. They can walk really long tracks but also just can go on a walk for an hour a day, they take what you give them

I LOVE my (standard) poodles. Have had them in our family (starting with my parents) since 2001! But not sure about them for a first time dog owner. You are so right about HOW smart they are. The ONLY issue with them, is with a novice owner they might be training the owner to their taste rather than the other way around (as it should be). LOL

Cavaliers are great but they have loads of health issues once they reach 9 or 10. I had one it was hard to watch her suffer..

It depends on how you live, if you are active then a poodle could be an amazing companion. The Pomeranian is well suited to appartment living :)

cavalier king charles have many health issues. I would change the list to a schnauzer instead of a king charles cavalier

Those small breeds are definitely good for first time dog owners but they do need training or they become the boss at home!

Bichon’s are definitely not for first time owners. If you’re looking for a low maintenance dog as your first dog, don’t get a Bichon. Their fur is wool and you’ll be constantly brushing them in order for it to not get matted/tangled. I was wanting a Bichon Frise as my first pet and I decided to go see a breeder, and watch her with her dogs at a dog show competition and i can say that if you want your dog to look like a cute floofy cloud there’s a lot of maintenance with that. This dog is one of the most high maintenance dogs in terms of grooming, don’t be deceived. Besides the high maintenance in grooming they are absolutely lovely dogs.

The Bichon is a dream to train, but it takes a lot of grooming, we would advice keeping the coat short if not taken to the groomer regulary. Thank you for your input! 🥰

Going to disagree with poodle. They need more experience owners. They can be very aggressive and stubborn
