One of Chopin's greatest works... And the trio in the scherzo... OMG what an inspired melody! I've known this sonata for over 50 years, but I never tire of it.

Beautifully played, thank you! I noticed some simplifications adopted by Schiff during that fateful passage with the replayed chords of the first movement that otherwise all pianists get dirty, definitely unplayable.

My god Schiff is a terrible accompanist in the Largo, just doing whatever he wants and Perenyi has to rush to follow him.

The piano part in this sonata is definitely not as an accompanist. They surely worked out tempi beforehand together. Schiff is never guilty of just doing whatever he wants to do. He does what the score tells him to do.
