My teacher assigned me this piece many many years ago, and I learned it somewhat reluctantly. However, one way or another it ended up being a permanent fixture in my repertoire, which is saying something since pretty much all other pieces fall out of my fingers sooner or later.
This is my 3rd attempt at recording this piece on the channel. I was never really fully satisfied with the previous interpretations, plus I've always wanted to record this Nocturne on a real grand piano, so forgive my indulgence if you've already heard the previous iterations. However, I think the playing is quite good this time around, so this will be my last recording of this piece.
Recorded on a Steinway D in my living room.

An acoustic, Steinway gives a totally different aura to any piece played. Take the superb Chopin creations, add an artist with the sensitivity to weave aural magic and one is transported. When paired with the sumptuous artistry of this extraordinary artist this gives a true picture acoustically of any work written for piano, this one shines! As per my usual response when hearing her, I am captivated as she weaves her magic, breath held with the turn of each phrase nuanced as only she can. My spirit lifted as only music can do and her as my guide......."Much gratitude for your sharing" comes from my spirit!

The improvement of your channel is insane, the piano/sound capture are perfect. This nocturne is difficult in two ways: learn it then put all the substance out. You managed to do both. Congrats.

Very lovely playing! Forgive me if I am a bother, but do you have any tips for training my fingers' strength evenly? I feel that I am lacking in my ring & pinky fingers & my thirds are definitely suffering from it. Any advice is greatly appreciated. 🙏

This shows how immortal this piece is, even if this is the third instrument that you recorded on. Really love the way you polish a piece again and again for perfection. May I ask how long do you practice every day in general?

Just found your channel through an Rach cover. You are an amazing pianist. I started less than 2 years ago and have been posting progress videos on my channel. Hoping in maybe 10-15 years I can play as well as you. So effortless. Nice job man.
