Beautiful performance as usual. Have loved this piece since the first time I heard it many years ago. Sounds so tragic and depressing. Have also learnt it at one point and found the section at 2:17 particularly challenging keeping the right hand soft while playing those parallel intervals.

I did listen to your latest recording on the Steinway. Quite honestly, I don’t know how any reasonably-priced equipment can generate the same gorgeous sound from Garritan CFX VST. I tried so hard to remember that feeling when I had access to a D-274. Instead, on the N1X it feels like I no longer know how to play repeated notes. Haha.

I think half of the magic comes from post-production work, which I'm starting to see is no easy feat.

Great performance! And the VST sounds incredible - are you able to practice live using the Garritan CFX? I'm in the market for digital pianos right now but not a huge fan of the sound on many of them, so I'm trying to figure out if live practice with a VST will feasible or if the latency will be too high.

Excellent and beautiful playing. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent. I have the same piano (Novus 10S) and I am recording using my IPhone 13 with the Shure MV88 microphone. However, when recording, I’m not getting your depth of tone. Which piano setting do you have it on-I’m guessing SK-EX Rendering “Romantic” ? Do you mind briefly sharing your recording equipment-camera and mic, and how you have them positioned? I’m assuming the mic is not connected directly to the piano, either. Thanks! Ron Albrecht
