If you want more dreamy classical I recommend Claude Debussy, he is so relaxing. Clair de Lune, Reverie and Arabesque No. 1 (Ciccolini) are magical and timeless.

also as a pianist, I think it's also about thinking in my personal opinion. Because there's so lyrics telling you what the piece is about. Often, I think about things when listening to classical music, like a specific story, situation or idk a man guiding through life, it really adds a lot more meaning to me. I feel like I can connect to the composer in some ways!

Pronounced "SHO-PAN." I love it that you're getting into some classical music. btw, that's a Van Gogh painting called "Starry Night." Hang in there, James. It's a hard time for everybody. Listening to this music is soothing for the soul.

I am a music teacher and I love watching the music touch your heart. You're the real deal. I'm vibing with you! Thanks for making my day better! I have some recommendations. You want passion? Ok. Beethoven's Symphony #7, 2nd movement. He takes you from desperation to hope and back through it again. Next: "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber. Watch out. You will cry. Then: "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. YES!!!

Correction. Some Americans pronounce it wrong. I dont. And here's a little tidbit for you.The name “Van Gogh” has three proper pronunciations in American English, according to most standard dictionaries: van-GOH (the most common), van-GOKH, and van-KHOKH (which comes closest to the Dutch).

As someone said below the picture you have up is called “Starry, Starry Night” A painting by Vincent van Gogh. There’s also a song by the same name about Vincent van Gogh by Don McLean. Is the same fellow who sang American Pie. You might want to check it out. It’s a great song. About a man who is very talented but suffered from depression and other mental problems. He really wasn’t meant to be in this world he was beyond the average human.

I remember learning and playing this classical piece when i was in second year high school, This became my signature piece whenever i would be asked to play. Life was so much simpler and happier back then, before all the losses that have come to pass. I worked in an office and I covered work details for another woman that worked with me. She had a radio on her desk and whenever I'd cover for her, I'd play classical music on her radio. She'd come back to work after her time off and she'd turn her radio on. She'd look at me and ask me how I could listen to classical music and not go to sleep? For me there wasn't any sleep.... like you said, it calms the mind and working with numbers with this soft music was the best way for me to do it. Thanks for your reaction, James. Take care and be well. Peace.

When I hear a piece like this, it feels like a good friend, who loves you, sitting you down when you're full of worry and talking sense to you. Easing your fears, reminding you of the good, hopeful things in your life, calming your worry, all done very kindly.... without using any words, all of those feelings are in the melody and the chords. When I was growing up there was a lot of "classical" music I listened to that kept me going, when everything seemed horrible it was like this voice of reason encouraging me not to give up. Reminding me that the world has beauty in it, and life has love in it, even if it felt far away at the time. Chopin, Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Debussy, plenty of others. Not sure how I would've made it to adulthood without them❤

Chopin was born in Poland, in a Polish-French family. Due to political situation (Russian occupation) he, like many others had to flee the country. He was a refugee and he never stopped missing Poland, country of his childhood and youth. Country he could never come back to. In his music you can hear his tears, as well as many inspirations he took from Polish traditional folk music

It's so cool that you are getting into this kind of music. I grew up poor too but had a music teacher in school that instead of doing the choir thing always, she would let us sit and for an entire hour have us close our eyes and listen to classical music or entire operas. It does make you forget momentarily about your problems. If you find this soothing, which it is, you should listen/react to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. I put that on when I struggle to sleep.

Pronounced- show-pan, Frederic Chopin was a polish composer, spent the latter part of his career in France. He wrote a lot of solo piano pieces, not a lot of full orchestra, opera kind of stuff. Chopin was a genius- anyone who took piano lessons knows “ chopsticks” that’s Chopin. If classical music moves you- Bach, Beethoven, Mozart- those 3 did it all. Lots of composers and artists historically were “ artist in residence” as per the royalty’s wishes. Great movie- Amadeus- about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Watch it when you can... music in the entire movie.🎼🎶😎

Fun fact: Astrophysicists have discovered space currents that match this "Starry Night" by Van Gogh. I'm humbled by what Van Gogh could see and hear, yet he could not translate all that to those of his own time.

there is an Italian singer from the 80's known as Gazebo who has a song called " I Like Chopin " which i think you would really enjoy. the song has some Chopin inspired piano along with synth and strings but the vocals and feel is also italian club/disco music of the 80's. his song I Like Chopin went to number 1 in 15 countries. also his songs Love In Your Eyes and Masterpiece are excellent.

hey, Welcome to another level of music that heals. I was playing Chopin (SHOW-pan), from an early age. You might listen to Berceuse - a lullaby. I was 12 and practiced 3 hours a day for 6 months. He was a very nervous performer, and his girl friend was George Sand(s?). I have been teaching music for (yikes!) 52 years... I started young. I love All genres of music. but, if you want to drain anything worrisome from your physicality, listen to Chopin, Debussy, Faure.... and of course the Angel that graces our planet, Angelina Jordan Astar. BTW, some of Chopin is intense... stick to Nocturnes... night music. I am so happy I found you. Hang in, bro. Your family is waiting for you 😊

Chopin is a great place to start for classical music! If you want to listen to something a bit darker and less relaxing, but still beautiful in in its own way you should check out Shostakovitch's String Quartet No. 8

So many great classical pieces to choose from. Hmm, try danse macabre by Saint-Saens. A truly haunting melody.

Saint-Saens is another great composer. I think you'd like The Swan from his Carnival of the Animals. A very beautiful, graceful, relaxing piece.

This piece was also sampled at the end of a song by Muse called "United States of Eurasia": they're very influenced by piano music. I would like to suggest also Rachmaninoff's "Prelude op. 23 No 5", which is also a piano composition. For other classical music, if you don't mind, I have to suggest Saint-Saens's "Aquarium" and, my personal favourite, "Danse Macabre". :) Take care, James!

Another great reaction JB. I have loved classical music and hi hop and rick since I was a teenager and for the same reason it soothed and helped me with stress, still does. My friends don't get it and think I'm a snob because I listen to it but who cares what other ppl think if it helps you and your not hurting anyone :-) I even bought a piano many years ago so I could play some of this for myself. 2020 is the 250 birthday of Beethoven maybe try a bit of his 6th symphony which is all about a walk through nature and very relaxing or the 2nd movement of his 5th piano concerto, again very relaxing.

JB, you HAVE to react to Rachmaninoff (sometimes spelled Rachmaninov). IMO, the greatest composer of all time. Start with his Piano Concerto No 2 in C Minor, Opus 18, Moderato. It will blow your mind. Here's a link, performed by the wonderfully gifted Chinese pianist Lang Lang: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m17bYWSamaxjrpY Also try his Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, 18th Variation (the last bit is important in order to get the correct movement). It is transcendental. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Hey, Chopin has beautiful music. Have you ever listened to Rachmaninov? "Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 8." Part of this music is in Eric Carmen's "All By Myself," as well. Beethoven's "Fur Elise" is another beautiful composition. And, Debussy, "Claire d' Lune ?" Not sure I spelled properly. Well known, like "Moonlight Sonata," so you may have heard of it. Also, Ira and George Gershwin's, "Rhapsody in Blue" is also very beautiful. Enjoy your videos. Have a great evening!

So glad you did that man. Really cool to see a first time reaction to Chopin. Might I suggest reacting to Chopin nocturne op 62 no 1 by Daniil Trifinov, or maybe a nice peaceful jazz song by Michel Petrucciani called Rachid, and it would be awesome to see you react to Grateful Dead 'So Many Roads'. If you search it the best version is the first one that will show up from 7/9/95 the last show Jerry Garcia every played. There is some similarity between Jerry and Chopin. The heart ❤️, the feeling. Have a good day ☺️
