Dear Greg, I recently 'discovered' you and learned a lot from you in a short time. Your analyzes are fantastic, as is this performance of a seemingly simple walz…. I am grateful for all your contributions and the time you put into it. The modesty you bring to this waltz does not detract from the piece, on the contrary. It's like dancing in a dream, bringing back sweet memories. And so this tempo fits perfectly there! Bravo from Austria, Paul Manche 💫🇦🇹

Very nice! I like the regularity of tempo, with just the right amount of rubato. Also, you don't try and make this waltz into something that it isn't. Sometimes I've fallen into the trap of trying to make it more dramatic than the notes really suggest. This waltz is truly a test of one's skill as a pianist and performer. Can you make something captivating out of such a simple, unassuming piece? There's no technical fireworks or moments of dramatic showmanship to wow the audience with like the etudes or other more complex works. Just a beautiful, relatively straightforward melody, the regular pulse of the waltz, and the repetition of the theme + variations. A wonderful challenge
@gregniemczuk Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, absolutely! Very challenging piece. Chopin, at the end of his life, went back to simplicity. But it's a complex simplicity, very demanding and profound!
