Congratulations on a great performance with clarity. I really enjoyed it. Strange how a performance is a two way thing Sometimes we just want the performer to play a piece perfectly and properly without putting too much of themselves into it. The listener can give it their own spiritual input. Claire Huangci did this, for me at least, so thank you.

Alive and sparkling with so many nuances.. the way she translates her Chopin Sonata onto the piano is virtuosic and full of unexplainable artistry..

I am officially a fan of Claire Huangci... she plays with so much attention to nuance. Amazing.

I love her playing to. Sad she didn’t pass the third stage.
I've loved CLAIRE'S PLAYING for SEVERAL YEARS -- EVER SINCE I HEARD HER FRANKLY DEFINITIVE LIVE PERFORMANCE of the PROKOFIEFF TOCCATA, which made it sound like vibrant MUSIC instead of th usual Bad Day at the Boilerworks. I can't understand why this remarkable virtuoso has not won a FIRST PRIZE at thi com/petition. I adore Seong Jin Cho, whose playing is sublime, but I like Clarie Hungsci's Bb-Minor sonata even BETTER. the ONLY thing working against Ms Hiangsci is that YAMAHA. Compared to Mr. Cho's magnificent Steinway, this Yamaha sounds downright TWANGY and even SNARLY. This is NOT Claire's fault. It is the INSTRUMENT. Her PLAYING is absolutely SUPERB. No one will ever hear this sonata played any better, and rarely as well. I've played it, myself, and played it very well, but could never approach the quality of polished virtuosity, clarity and absolute control achieved by Mr. Cho, Ms. Huangsci and also Ms Kobayashi. but then neither could Horowitz, Rubinstein, or Novaes even in their best years. Piano playing per se has reached greater heights today than ever before in his history. I doubt even Chopin, himself, our play his works as well as these young contestants.

@Konstantin Ridaya completely agree with you. the winner of the 2010 competition does not have as accurate a sonata as Claire's. the attention to nuance in this pianist's performances are much better, to tell the truth. In studies, sometimes in Mazurkas, Trifonov has abrupt and choppy endings in his phrasing, which in my opinion makes him clumsy. I do not understand that having played two sonatas in the third stage, also well interpreted, Claire did not pass.

Le dernier mouvement est particulièrement réussi.

Chopin actually intended for the repeat to go back to the Grave and not to the Doppio movimento section
